The second lead was offered to Fawad also, it was supposed to be about two rappers, now it's just another gareeb logon ke MPDG film.

I don't think Ranbir would lobby for a rap artist's role. He rejected Dil dharakne Do, after that he wasn't approached for any excel film be it lead or otherwise. Also he has certain issues with zoya/Farhan I believe.
