In my Opinion what they are saying might be correct 👍🏼. The TRAI seems to be more interested in safeguarding increasing interests of media houses than the consumers and cable operators😈.

DTH operators have nothing to loose . They will be getting a steady monthly rent for the STB. All they will have to show the free channels . It is the consumers who are going to pay . Actually , those who want to see limited chaneels & were paying 150/200 mpnthly , will have to pay more .While those were paying 500+ mothly , will have to pay less . This seems to be the conclusion based on whatever info is available.
So far , Tata sky site does not mention anything about new system

I think cable/DTH operators are not being allowed to sell channel bouquets, it is the Channels who would be selling bouquets. So cable operators will also lose. Right now most of us can see almost all the channels, including HD channels, in the languages we understand at about 300-500. After this I think it will not be possible. Zee Marathi alone costs INR19 .
People who are paying more than 500+ will have to pay more to watch the same number of channels.
It is quite clear that government and TRAI is looking after the interests of Channel owners and not after interests of consumers and operators. it would be interesting to know if these channel owners contributed anything to the party fund of different political parties. is that the reason why decisions are being taken in their interests? But, wait, we cannot know that because of electoral bond law.
Saw a program on this issue on Jai Maharshtra channel that had Varsha Raut of Mumbai Grahak Panchayat on the panel. The way she was taking up the cudgels for channels was surprising, seemed like she was their on the behalf of TV channels owners and not sonsumers. Finally Anil Parab of SS cable Sena gave her a piece of his mind.
