He was better off making medium budget movies with madhavan, swara, Jimmy shergill and gang. Casting Srk just got him hype for no good.

Looks like this leap to the A league, working with A listers and huge budgets really made his filmmaking sense go for a toss. Admittedly he was never a great filmmaker or anything.. but his films had their own kind of flavour and seemed to click with a certain audience.

I haven't seen zero to judge it but I have liked Ranjhanaa and TWMR alot (the former being one of my personal favourite films of this decade).

The film is technically very sound. ALR's fault like Imtiaz and Rohit was to make a film around SRK's star image instrad of making a role for SRK

To some extent, Bauua is pretty much a typical ALR character. But it is the desire to make him larger than life, through Aafiya and Babita, to fit SRK's image that kills the film.
