I just watched the episode and my mouth fell open when Shivani said that she was pregnant. đ˛
There's only one thing I think the writers hope to achieve with this. They don't want to risk getting Prerna pregnant before wedlock so early in the show like in KZK1 (even though, personally I wouldn't mind being shown a strong single mother in society).
Therefore I think, something will happen to Shivani after she gives birth which will cause Prerna to raise the child. Either Shivani runs away/dies/leaves the child, and Veena will want Suman and Shekhar to raise the baby, but obviously Suman won't. She'll probably have her own child too, and this one will get sidelined, leading Prerna to take responsibility. This is what happened in S1 with Prerna's child. Suman and Shekhar raised Prem (AnuPre's kid) originally so that it will remain a secret that Prerna was an unwed mother, while Prerna lived in the same house, then they had their own kid and Prem got sidelined, causing Prerna to step up and take responsibility.
The only other possibility I can think of is that this is just all for drama and writers have no plan with this storyline. đ
I would prefer if they're going the Shivani is pregnant route, then scrap the idea of a child altogether, but I guess they want kids in the story. Also this means within the next 9 months of show time it is likely for Komolika to marry Anurag, if the writers go forward with the marriage. I really wish the writers come up with something creative and original, but let's see.
