It was evening ,Raman had already told ishita that he don't want that people should think and talk wrong about them ,so she should travel to office with her own conveyance. Knowing this ishita carried her bag and lunchbox ,then went out of the office . As she don't have any idea about bus and taxi ,she opted for Ola. She tried to book a Ola but got response that non of their car is free for that route.Raman settled in car and was going home when he saw ishita standing with a big carry bag on her hand and a tote on her shoulder . He made a confusing face and thought " somuch of things, what she carrying " . Thinking so he stopped the car and asked " what's there in this bag ".

I- nothing just empty lunch box .

R- ohh ,come in .

I- you told me to go myself .

R- yeah ,but I can see you have many things in your hand, so ...

I- it's ok, I will manage .( after thinking for sometimes )actually not ,I don't even know the actual address of your house ,so I can't come by myself . You give me lift for today and I will manage from tomorrow.

Raman just looked at her and unlocked the passenger door for her . She settled in car and both drove to home .

Next morning ishita again made morning tea for them which toshiji and Raman had without any fuss . She got happy as may be with very slowly but they had started accepting her . She then helped toshiji in making breakfast ,then got ready for office and left before Raman saying that she has to go by her own means and she may be late in evening . Toshiji wanted to stop her for breakfast while Raman wanted to stop her to give lift but both opted otherwise . Toshiji looked at Raman and asked " why she is going by herself ,can't you take her with you ".

R- ma she is a staff for me ,I can't do that as I had many other female employees. I hope you understand.

T- humm but she didn't even had her breakfast.

Raman too felt bit bad knowing this and said " koi nahi ,I will take care if it . I will ask if she had anything ,if she sould her breakfast on wah then it's ok either, will order something. "

T- that will be fine . Raman ,puttar I was thinking something.

R- haan ma boliye .

T- puttar if you had brought ishita home and she us living with us ,why don't you give her a chance ,may be...

Raman didn't let her complete and spoke " ma we had already talked about this . It's not possible , I m not ready for it ."

Saying so, he got up to leave for office . He reached his office and called ishita ,she showed up and he asked " did you had your breakfast ".

Ishita looked at him as if asking that if he is interested in her for which he answered
" ma was concerned about you thinking you came to office with having anything ".

I- no sir I m good .

R- it's ok you can tell ,if you didn't had anything ,you can order something for you .

I- no sir its perfectly all right, rather I want to ask you something.

R- humm .

I- I want a half day leave .

R- leave why ,already many of female staff hasn't come and you too ..

I- I had some very urgent thing which i can't ignore ,please ..

R- ok .you can go .

Ishita nodded and went, she completed all her work till afternoon then left from the office . Though Raman wanted to know where she is going but didn't asked thinking if he will ask she will start expecting from him .

It was about 9.30 in night ,Raman and toshiji had completed their dinner and were about to leave for their respective rooms but they were still sitting in the hall, waiting for ishita .(As toshiji do all the household works beside being old ,they use to have dinner early so that she can rest ).Though Raman use to wake and work till late but today toshiji too was up as she was worried for ishita .Raman dialled her number again and spoke in frustration" her phone is switch off . do you have any information about ishita ."

He spoke looking towards his mother. Toshiji shook her head in negation and told
" no she just called me and informed that she will be late .

R- that she told me too before leaving the office .

T- hadn't she informed where she is going .

R- no, just told that she is going for some important work. its 9.30 already and she hadn't come yet. How careless a girl can be .

Toshiji too got worried as well as suspicious about ishita . Though she had thought to give ishita a chance but this act of her had again put a question mark on her character,it forced toshiji to think again about ishita before giving her permission to enter Raman's life again while Raman was frustrated . More than frustrated he was worried and disheartened . Though he was keep on saying that he don't want her in his life but the truth had started liking her being around him ,though he hadn't realised yet . He had started thinking that ishita do care about him and actually want him in her life but today he felt like totally outsider whom she hadn't informed about her whereabouts as well as hadn't showed up till now . His mind went on the night when he saw her in the party ,in that short dress with Ashok Khanna. Though he was shrugging the thought again and again that ishita isn't like that but her image in black short dress was flashing again and again . He settled beside toshiji and spoke " ma it's late you go and rest ,I m here ".

T- no puttar I m not going anywhere ,I will wait here only to tell her that it's not a hotel but house of good people . If she has to follow our rules if she want to stay over here .

Raman brought a duvet for his mother and make her comfortable on couch as it was bit cold outside . He too brought his laptop and started working sitting beside his mother . Half and hour passed,Raman was again and again trying her number but it was switch off . About 10.15 the door bell rang, Raman opened the door and saw ishita standing there . She saw him and said " I m sorry, I got late, actually I was ...

R- why your phone is switch off .

I- I couldn't able to charge my phone and the battery drained.

She spoke and entered the house slowly, he closed the door and came behind her . Ishita was going towards her room when she was toshiji sleeping in the couch ,she stopped and asked " why mummyji is sleeping her ,is she alright ".

R- yeah, she was waiting for you .

Ishita looked at him ,their eyes got locked for a nano second, she then downcasted her eyes feeling guilty of her act while Raman saw her . Though she was dressed in same simple dress which she was wearing in morning but there was much difference in her look,which can be noticed. Her hairs were nicely tied in a bun, decorated with white flower strings, the mangalsutra which she usually wear in her wrist is dangling in her neck ,her hands were full of mehendi while a pinch of sindoor was adoring her partition . Her forehead had a small diamond bindi while her hands were full was red choora. May be she had wiped her makeup but red lipstick was still on her lips . Ishita was looking down while Raman was looking at her ,trying go understand why she had got ready like this . They were still glued to their place ,Raman though wanted but was not asking anything while ishita was quite as she don't wanted to tell him anything. That's when toshiji woke ,she opened her eyes and looked at ishita, then got up and asked in bit rudely ," where were you till now ,you must be having watch, look at the time . Is it time to return home".

I- I m sorry mummyji, it will not happen again ,I tried a lot but couldn't manage to come early .

Toshiji scanned ishita from top to bottom and asked " where you were ? Why are you dressed somuch ,kisi shaadi mein gayi thi ".

I- wo no...yes ...mummyji .

T- are you lying .?

I- yes..no mummyji .

Toshiji got suspicious and spoke " look at me then answer ".

Ishira raised her eyes and looked at toshiji while she said " now tell me where were you".

Ishita thought for sometimes and said " I was at my friends home ,was doing karwa chauth puja ".

Toshiji and Raman were surprised to know this . Till now both mother son knew that it was karwachauth but non even talked about ishita doing this . Raman,because he thought that toshiji don't remember it and if she will recall she will surely curse ishita for not fasting for him while toshiji didn't talked for once about it, thinking may be Raman will be hurt ,as all his friends wife do this fast for their husband but ishita didn't even remember it . Toshiji and Raman saw eachother then toshiji asked " you know about it ".

I- not only me but now a days all married girl know about this puja .

T- if you wanted to do it why didn't you done this in our home .

Ishita got silent for sometimes while toshiji asked again " tell me ishita ".

I- I thought if I still do this here, may be you can think that I m pretending and showing that I m good ,so I went to my friends place . There were many ladies doing it ,I too did it nicely .

T- without Raman ?

I- humm ,they told that if my husband is not with me ,I can do it my looking to his picture .

T- you had that ?

I- yeah ,I took it yesterday itself .

She said meekly ,while toshiji smiled fully listening to this then asked " how did you broke your fast ,they must had did it by having water from their husbands ".

I- humm .

T- and you .

I- I didn't broke it yet ,thought if I get any chance to drink water from Raman I'd hands then it's ok or will spend the night like this and will open my fast tomorrow.

T- aise kaise ,there is rule for everything. You must broke fast today itself that too by drinking water from your husband's hand .

Ishita looked at Raman who was listening to ladies conversation very keenly, folding his hands near his chest . Toshiji too looked at him then spoke " ishita if Raman is there why don't you two go to terrace and do puja again ,till then I will make something for you ."

I- no mummyji that's not required .

R- that's what I was saying .

I- not puja but cooking ,I myself will cook something quickly for me . Why you will stress yourself .

T- no puttar I m not stressing myself but I m too happy .

I- kyun .

T- you will not understand ,chodo . Raman you go and bring puja stuff .

R- from where .

T- market ofcourse.

R- it's too late ma .

T- i agree ,but you will surely get them . Not much things are needed ,just a sieve and sweets ,puja stuff are there in house .ishita you go and get ready .

Ishura looked at Raman then went to her room ,while toshiji smiled fully and signalled Raman to go to market .
