We're not saying he's a likable person.
So he says this and that to Megha/Dipika, obviously he would try and save his friends. He doesn't believe in it, it's simply his way of persuasion - too bad it didn't work. And BB is an impression game. How "real" are any of the other contestants? Sree's constant "running way"? Dipika keeping her thoughts to herself? Surbi screaming all the damn time? Romil's half-hearted friendships? Everyone's pool-side tearful monologues? He did have an overboard reaction to Rohit - probably saw Sree getting sympathy and thought this is the way to go!But he great at tasks and strategizing so kudos for that. That's why Megha wanted to be in HC in the first place - she knew they had brains. He is also very focused in his game. Mostly he is also likable because he gets bashed when he deserves it - he is not blindly supported. He's desperate yes, makes sense because this is a big deal for him. It's just impressive to him always thinking about the next step
