it feels really strange that in the last week, we see traces of the old bepannah that was so engaging in the beginning. emotions that are raw and playing havoc. people actually acting like how real world people would react to situations.

could we have seen the impact of aditya's erratic behaviour on arjun earlier? the brothers in conflict and frustrated at each other? arjun feeling like he can't breathe even when he is so many kilometers away and still has to be the responsible one? and his anger and argument with aditya were spot on. and then his conversations with noor where we see his loneliness and his need for a familiar face where he just wants to talk. and the awkwardness with noor as they both try to connect amidst the changes and the old memories...

whlie the secretary girl is just plain weird, aditya's anger and erratic behaviour makes it interesting to watch and also drives home how much arjun played a role in making this family sane and holding the pieces. he was the peace maker and should have been given a more prominent role.

it almost feels like the past few months were written by another person (maybe some junior writer) and there was no depth to the whole rajveer-nani track. it was mostly comedy with hardly any emotional resonance. and now, we are getting back to the writing that really made bepannah sparkle and shine in the first 6 months or so...

as I listen to the old OST song, the themes stand out -- anger, frustration, loneliness, moving on, trying to find comfort amidst the pain, confusion at life's turns, the distance between loved ones, inability to communicate what's inside the heart; when bepannah stayed grounded in those themes, it really stood out and so perhaps, it would have been better as a closed fixed episode series. then it wouldn't have meandered off into weirdness and a bit of emotional disconnect...

When channel has a habit of poking nose in writer's work ofcourse one is bound to feel changes. They have been continuously interfering ever since Pak rishta track. Original storyline changed long back. Writers were still trying to keep the essence intact but how can channel stand that. Writers tried so hard to show their story on which they worked for some 3 years and this channel ruined it all.
For some reason, I am glad it ended like this since more interference would have made me disconnect with the show completely. And PH did the right thing by not bowing down further to this stupid channel's demands. Look at those shows which bowed, they are in absolute mess now.

wish ITV followed a strict episode count like they used to have in old Doordarshan days. the serial story was intact and so exciting and it all made sense when it wound down. we said goodbye and went to watch another. but yea, when channel interferes with random pop ins to other serial characters and unnecessary fillers, time slot changes, it really suffers. here, the side characters also got butchered and it was a pity because they could have really shone. the potential for really interesting stories and development was there. oh well. at least, we get a good week before we say bye bye.

Original story was only in pre leap. Paak rishta episodes there were some interference from channel. Then it restarted after the 6 months leap by bringing arshad, celebrity wedding. However despite these interference CVs somehow managed to keep essence intact. Oh lord post marriage the track completely changed things. Again essence was still there in certain places but HH sudden death made me feel I am not watching BP anymore. I'm not liking the 1 year leap episodes that much. Something looks off. I am glad too in a way show is ending otherwise channel would have kept on interfering and butchered everything or if the voot idea hadn't been cancelled, it might have just been Adi - Zoya - kunal - mili rectangle 😆

You have so beautifully summed up what each of us are feeling. Yes, BP stood for the storm that wreaks havoc and the gradual healing as an aftermath. The brothers and their struggle yet finding solace in each other, the sisters trying to support each other especially Noor coming all the way to Bombay just to be with her appi and Zoya always guilty at the back of her mind for not being an ideal elder sister amidst the chaos. All these and many more relationship dynamics remained unexplored although they were the subtext underlying in Bepannah.
Another thing if the channel has budget issues why introduce so many new faces in the serial. That Nani overacted this secretary seems odd and yesterday that blue coat guy looked so out of place.😆

What a great post! 👏
And yes, @bold: I, too, had been thinking several other writers had been coming in for several episodes. It didn't have that 'real' BP feel anymore, too often.
Even now, there is hardly a BP strength in this track. No wonder also, because everything is just being hurled on to this abrupt ending.
Not to say anything further about the last-minute introduction of weird persons 🤢

all said and done there is no denying that the channel did not give the show a fing chance...they interfered not just with the track ...who in their right mind does that to a prime time show instead of promoting it they pull the rug from under its feet... do everything possible for it not to go on ...as if they had decided to cut their losses n shut the door long ago... because business is bad what do u do axe the most promising product..in the mean time fool the public n cash in on its popularity with young ppl
