I saw the episode again as I had watch it with interruptions earlier.
Deepika did feel genuinely bad.
She had to pass strong message to Romil family is off limits.
But as a neutral audience I understand why some are accusing Deepika of overreaction.
Deepika's outburst was over the top compared to the crime.
According to me Deepika lost it and her outburst doubled after Srishty's defense at dinning table.
Because she stood by Srishty consoling her in Rohit case.
I am either way happy to see Deepika in action.

Exactly, they thought as usual she would let it go especially as both Surbhi and Somi were laughing during the skit. Didn't they realize that Deepika could have turned the tables on Romil and said the same thing about his wife and sister. But she did not do that, she just kept it on Romil and his words. More dignified, I think.
Also, I think she would not have gone overboard if Romil would have kept his attitude. He kept insisting that he was not wrong. Like really and that was making her mad. On the other hand Shristy realizes that she crossed the line and kept her mouth shut.
