There are so many topics and I want to post in all of them, but I just decided that instead of dividing up my thoughts or posting my thoughts in a thread that has nothing to do with it, I would make a separate topic on this matter and if anyone else wants to comment on the situation as a whole, they can join in.
The issue as a whole - It wasn't really blown out of proportion at all. I felt that it took a while to sink in for Dipika and Romil and Srishty were aware that Dipika was hurt, but were waiting for the right opportunity to speak about it. The joke was in bad taste. I get that they were trying to be funny, but the way it was said, it just came out wrong. Not only the joke on Dipika, but I feel all the so-called jokes came out wrong. They looked more like below-the-belt attacks, then actual jokes. Additionally there is a limit to jokes and you can only go personal if you know the person well and you know what their limit is. Romil and Srishty don't know Dipika well and don't know her limits, so they had no right to go so personal in their comments.
Romil - Why should Dipika come to you separately and talk to you? Why should she ask politely? And when everyone, even your friends, are telling you that you were wrong, why can't you apologize? I might have supported Romil if he had apologized and then Dipika went on the rant because then it would like Dipika was playing the victim card, but by doing what he did, Romil basically proved Dipika right. His utter ignorance on his mistake made me livid. This was personal, it wasn't some mistake made in the game or in the task. A heartfelt apology could solve it.
Srishty - More than Romil, Srishty angered me. Her apology did not feel real. And then her method of brushing it off and saying that it was Romil's idea was just insensitive. You have a brain. Use it. When you practiced this with Romil, you should have said something if you really felt it was wrong. By not saying anything, you basically supported Romil and he thought he was fine. And now you're trying to play the victim card, when you weren't the victim in any way!
Sree - I loved him today. The way he tried to stop Dipika and then consoled her, he really proved that he was Dipika's friend, if not brother. After all these times when Dipika has consoled him, he gave it back and proved that the relationship is not just one-way. Not only that, but I loved how he didn't react on the joke that Romil and Srishty cracked on him. He was angry, but he controlled himself. Good for him.
Dipika - I was scared from the precap that maybe that's all Dipika would actually say or that it would turn out that she was playing the victim card, but I'm glad that it wasn't like that. Dipika was stunned and I feel that's why she didn't comment on the matter right away. When it finally sunk in, she reacted and a simple hug wasn't going to appease her. She was right. Romil and Srishty don't know her. They don't her personal life. Then how can they comment on it?
KV - I like how he tried to talk to all the parties involved and wasn't doing any idhar ka udhar. He tried to talk to Romil and explain that Romil was wrong and he should apologize. He did the same with Srishty and consoled her when she said she wasn't sure what to do. And then with Dipika he was there as her friend. So I liked that.
Surbhi, Deepak, and Somi - For the first time these 3 impressed me. I was expecting them to stick by Romil and laugh at Dipika and call her out for being so emotional and what not, but I was pleasantly surprised to see them telling Romil off as well. That was impressive. It was also kind of hypocritical, but I put the past aside just this once to praise these 3.
