Aditis Marriage Caused Problems(article).

hey all,

i was reading mumbai mirror and i came across this...

i read the name deshmukh, amit, CM, and then i thought oooooo this is the amit deshmukh, son of vilasrao deshmukh getting married to the aditi in SP!

although the article does not mention aditi's name...it is about her marriage...

i personally think what happened was out of order...and not fair...

Nazneen Antia, the disappointed bride

Nazneen Antia's father Sam prides himself on his meticulousness. So when his Canada-based daughter's wedding reception was fixed for February 29, 2008, he decided to book the venue a year in advance.

"Most of our guests were coming from Canada. I chose Gallops because of the ambience, I wanted the invitees to be able to sit on the lawns and enjoy the fresh air," said Sam who paid Rs 60,000 to the restaurant in advance.

So it came as a big shock to him when just 72 hours before the reception he was summarily informed by the management that the venue was no longer available to the Antias as it clashed with chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh's son Amit's reception at the Turf Club some metres away. Security, since President Pratibha Patil and several other VIPs are expected to attend, was cited as the reason for the cancellation. Sources, who did not wish to be identified, also said that the CM had requested that the Gallops entrance be used as one of the gates to his son's reception.

The Antias, meanwhile, who had issued invites, have since been working their phones to book another venue and to call all the hundreds of guests and inform them of the cancellation.

Nazneen, the Antias only child is a banker with American Express in Canada and her groom, Eddie Parakh, is a pilot with Air Canada. The couple returned to India in January especially for the wedding.

They have now managed to get another venue, Scihar Agiary, at Bhulabhai Desai road for the reception, although they are still running around looking for caterers and making sure all arrangements are in place before Friday.

When contacted, Gallops management confirmed that the reception ceremony of the Antias has been cancelled.

"We have cancelled the reception ceremony of the Antias. You may contact the family to find out about the new venue decided by them," said John Fernandes, the manager at Gallops. While Rahul Mallick, one of the restaurant co-owners said without elaborating, "I am not at liberty to disclose any information on my client."

hmm dats sad ..poor people had to arrange all that blimey i dunno how they did that 😕

That is really sad for the other family. But I guess safety of others is more important too.

At least they would have apologized and explained the situation to them.

How inconsiderate of Gallops, considering the space was reserved a year in advance, with a deposit no less! 😕

That's atrocious!!! They should actually sue the resturant! If the hall could not be used, they could have given at least a month's notice!!!

thanx for sharing....that was bad but it aint aditi's fault.....also the managemnet shoud have known b4 hand.......72 hours b4 is not exceptable 🤢
