As for hot... yes, Manu... that's South India for you.. tropical climates right? So there's no real winter at all... just hot hotter and hottest ... especially the cities with increased crowding and buildings...

At least Hyderabad, Bangalore, Coimbatore and similar cities where greenery used to be abundant, enjoyed temperatures dipping to low 20s this time (and even lower during the Dec-Jan months)... these days woh bhi nahin...

Yesterday my FIL said it's still above 30 and he needs an AC at night 😕(Hyderbad)
