I don't think it was a preplanned decision. Looks like a sudden decision to me!
And I don't think Drashti even got a send off so I'm guessing nothing was planned in advance!
It's either creative differences that made Drashti leave or the makers themselves have asked her to leave!

It is sudden only. . Maybe she was asked to leave to cut costs

My take they thought K and N luv story will sell like hot cake bcz glamorous actor it failed
Due to actor demand they used white wash it failed
So last try to see if public demand works and Nandini did not fit dd s aspiration older character hated character and Nandini the way she is no market so get rid of the cost and the fat

Logically it makes sense for her to leave. If Kunal is to stay with Nandini and Mauli is single then whats the point of the show...every storyline would be wrapped up.

Nandini leaving is the best way to add life to the storyline. I know most people hate her but for me Kunal was always the worst of the worst and he is the one who deserves to repent the most as it was him who was married to begin with.

I think makers realized that if they kept Kunan going people would eventually just stop watching.
