Media, actors n CVs all are implying that if u don't accept EMA, u r regressive!! Valuing marriage or trying to save marriage is regressive... Not accepting lust story is regressive...

Arrey I loved EMA story on web series.. SBRK's execution is pathetic! They jus focus on whitewash Nandini n hence the khichdi..

Polygamy is regressive but apparently cheating is progressive, EMA is progressive, hell tomorrow wife swapping would be progressive too. OK.
I need a new dictionary and definitions for these words. Last I heard even court said EMA and adultery to be a moral digression of the society and yet it is progressive as per TOI. Wow.

Reality doesnot have to be progreesive always, it is regressive a lot of times. Rapes and violence, sexism, racism, misogyny, misandry, homophobia and a lot of things are real things in society but none of them are progressive. It's time to call a spade a spade rather than justify things on grounds of regressive and progressive to fit a narrative. Wrong is a wrong no matter what.

It's actually sad that the media think the reason this show is doing bad because the audience can't accept EMA. They haven't understood that the audience can't accept EMA being shown justified in the way it was:

- With a man whom was in a perfect marriage with his wife and loved her a lot as she was an amazing wife, then betraying her and not being able to give a solid explanation why he cheated makes the viewers see the husband as disloyal and lusty whom takes his wife for granted.

-The other woman being the wife's childhood best friend, whom the wife saves and supports her to over come an abusive marriage, only for the woman to start seeing her best friend cum saviors husband as her ideal man and starting an affair with him, betraying her best friend who saved her and continuing to dream of having a happy life with the man knowing he's her best friend's husband, making her seem ungrateful and the ultimate backstabber who stole her best friend's husband just because her own was rotten.

- The casual attitude of the cheating husband and best friend to having an affair and thinking there is nothing wrong with cheating in the name of love is annoying. They think because emotions can't be controlled, they think there's nothing wrong to act upon your thoughts and feelings by having an affair with the person you have fallen for even if it means breaking the trust and heart of someone who knows and loves you.

- The man in the viewers eyes seemingly only having cheated on his wife for the other woman because the other woman dresses up in sarees, is simple and stay at home woman with no career, unlike his wife, and because he feels sorry for the other woman because she's weak and fragile having come out of an abusive marriage, making it look to viewers that the makers are trying to give a message that men don't have a preference for strong and independent women who have a career and like to dress practically, that men prefer the old regressive stereotype of the perfect Indian woman who wears sarees, doesn't work and only sits at home and cooks to please a man. In a way this show instills fear in the modern-day woman who wants to have a career that she can't have a career as it will come at the expense of her marriage. Barely any indian serials show working women who are strong and independent in a very positive light without reverting to the image of showing women staying at home trying to please in-laws and husband and being walked over by husband and family in order to be given best wife/ DIL award.

I agreed ur points..this serial main is not silsila badalte..and it absolutely right mainly kunal falled love with nandini..who dresses up in sarees and simple and stay at home .without jobless..and ambition..unlike his wife who is strong woman and intelligent doctor..so that's should be main reason to fall her lust as so called love as well as kunal also doctor..he has ego and insecurity feeling with mauli because wife also same career that's why he maybe leave with maul I for this reason..The everyman in the same attitude to get same reason to make extra relationship with other woman..

CVs claim that while a portion of their audience doesn't like it cuz of EMA, there's another portion which is liking it for showing the reality. Apparently, this show is change from the regressive shows that Indian audience gets a regular dose of.

Agreed, it's different, not the typical saas-bahu. But what CVs fail to realize is, in their aim to show the reality, they are giving ideas to the wrong kind of people. What they show does happen in real, but many men/women do not cheat fearing the consequences. But when you have a serial glorifying EMA, it allows people to commit it, thinking they'll be let off lose, causing lives to be ruined.

For a change I watched this show for reality thing only. I was ready to See an affair but the way they showed it was cringy AF. Mauli's portrayal was never going to get audience side KuNan.
