Sachin virat etc r loved cause they r awesome players. Even in the whole world knows they r best batsman.
Those audience r not indian. Then y? Bcoz they r awesome batsman. To create a fanbasw they had to work hard n be the best batsman
So plz ur logic is absud n laughable
Domt even draw a comparison.
I hope this is not the same for Einstein. ? Dont tell me he is the best scientist coz he had 160iq rather than fanbase?
Lol

I am not saying he is bad or good as a player... indian kabbadi team won 3 world cup titles...they are awesomw players too..best in their sport in the world.. but they are not revered as much as cricket players are in India...here fan base plays role... shreesant must be good as a person i dont want to comment on that but with name n fame comes a responsibility too...they have to behave in a decent way... people idiolize them..they expect some decency in return..

I have also not stated how Shree is as a player
I said about how crickter vs celebs cant be compared.
A cricketer would never be considered in a team due to his fanbase
He would be selected bcoz of his merit
Thats what i am trying to say

cricketer gets selected in team because of their hardwork... agree but fame comes because of followers... tell me how many of you know all Ranji players... cos I know I don't know many of them...

Like football is the best sports Brazil or Argentina plays, or American football basketball baseball in USA...and so on. They are on top of that game in their respective countries so it's famous. I don't mean to demean other sports. I am just putting a point that in cricket, India is better in international level or even national, I am not sure, compared to other sports. And even if they are famous or not, it is totally on their talent. If Messi couldn't play football, he won't have been famous. He is respected because he is excellent at what he does. Which is completely opposite of what Romil was trying to say. And also different from film industry. Do you think Salman is a better actor than say, Rajkumar Rao? But who is put in a higher pedestal?

I beg to differ on sports India is champion in kabaddi and does pretty well in badminton, wrestling and boxing too. But the fan following is much lower. Also it has been quite sometime Sree has played for Indian cricket team and definitely doesn't draw salary from BCCI. He has been shown talking about his movies and playback singer more than talking about cricket. So definitely he requires aam admi for his fame now.

I don't see any contradiction in Romil's argument

At first even I didn't get Romil's argument because Sree managed to excel in cricket himself. However, the fame that is accompanied with it can be attributed to the Indian public. As another commentor has already pointed out, there are numerous sportsmen who excel but do not enjoy the same luxuries and fame simply because they or the sport they play is not as popular.

Still, it's not the best argument. I agree with Sree, it was more like a overused dialogue. See was definitely wrong, they didn't really have to say much to bring the point across.
