After the hotel room fiasco, I didn't want to watch the show anymore. I was someone who would watch the episodes the moment they were posted online. However, I waited a whole week to watch all of this week's episode in one go because of that one silly scene.
Anyways, I wanted to talk about yesterday's episode with the stuck engagement ring. There is a symbolism here.
Anurag placed the ring on Prerna's finger, and it isn't coming off. This means he will promise to be with her, and no matter how hard Prerna tries, she won't be able to lose Anurag's imprint on her life.
She wants the ring to come off really badly. She will want to get over Anurag when he chooses his mother and Komolika over her... but no matter how hard she tries, Prerna won't be able to get rid of it herself.
Then, Anurag brings a solution and says here, I have a solution. It will sting. Prerna shrieks in pain. Anurag will try to distance himself from Prerna in the future, thinking that's the solution, but Prerna will cry and will be in such agony that the pain from separation will cut her deeply.
If you noticed, she didn't let Anurag put the solution on her. She took it on for herself, which symbolizes that she herself will try to move on, but it won't work -- as seen with her wailing afterwards.
Finally, once the pain goes away, she doesn't take off the engagement ring. It is still on her finger, which means that somewhere, Anurag will occupy her heart, her mind, her soul for a long time. 😉
There is such deep symbolism and foreshadowing with this entire ring scenario, that it gives us an indication of what is to come. With Komolika's entry next week, let's see how these relationships deepen. 😳
