Coins of Chandragupta and Asoka

The name of the Royal owners is hidden in the names Mirzaka and Patan. The name Mirzaka has an Islamic ring but distinctly echoes Mauryaka. As Chandragupta was a northerner Palibothra is more likely to have been near Patan and Mirzaka. The treasure probably belonged to the Nandas although later it may have been seized by Alexander and the Mauryas. There can be little doubt that Andragoras whose gold coin was found at Mirzaka (and also in the Oxus treasure) was the same as Androcottos/Chandragupta.
