I know. I just found it funny. This used to happen a lot in the past where YouTube would take forever to update view count. Nowadays they do it almost real time, so such scenarios are rare.

Anyway, Bollywood just can't compare when it comes to craze people have for (male) film stars in the South.

Like I know they are already preoccupied by their own stars, but who is the most popular among the north stars?

Amitabh Bachchan is most famous. But most popular (in terms of fans) used to be SRK. Now I don't think many people ship SRK the same way, so current favourite could be Salman. However, Bollywood actresses have more fame down South than male actors.

How popular are Aish and Deepika down south since they are natives?
And who is the most popular non-South Indian female over there?

Ash is the most recognized/famous face down South - but that perhaps also has to do with the fact that she worked with the most prolific directors there like Mani Ratnam and Shankar and did good films.

I don't think South Indians favour an actor just because they're a native. Compared to Deepika, Katrina is more famous. Her film Malliswari was a blockbuster hit with repeat value. Rajnikanth is the biggest superstar, even though he's actually a Maharashtiran ie, not from the South.

Both dp and aish have done south indian films also. Aish more i think. Even kat had a superhit.

but I think Tamils are indeed seem to love people who does win their heart.
Dhoni for example, I doubt people in Ranchi are as crazy as they are in Chennai for him.

Btw I also read that Malayalam people don't like masala movies much but only if their own makes them, while Vijay's masala movies are super popular 😆
