Was Deepika Padukone Karan Johar's confidante in regards to his kids?

Karan Johar's popular television show Koffee With Karan is back with its season 6 and will start premiering tomorrow onwards i.e. October 21. With KJo not just being nation's favourite filmmaker but also the coolest B-town daddy to his kids Roohi and Yash, not many know that Deepika Padukone was the first person he told this. Karan welcomed his twins via surrogacy and ever since then he has been keeping busy with father duties. While most of us think that he would have first discussed the thought with his mother Hiroo Johar or his best friend and actor Shah Rukh Khan, it all happened when Karan accidentally shared the news with Deepika but she kept the secret.


The filmmaker revealed his confidante on his show Koffee With Karan. Karan will be talking his heart out about becoming a parent through surrogacy with his first guests Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt. If the sources are to be believed it all happened when in an emotional moment Karan came to know that he can soon take his babies home and Deepika had incidentally called him at that time itself. In his heart-to-heart with her, KJo broke the news to the actor and she swore to him that she will keep this as a secret.


A source close to the show informed a daily saying, "Karan recalls that neither his mother Hiroo Johar nor his brother Shah Rukh Khan had any inkling about his parenthood plans. And until he himself announced it a couple of months later, Deepika was the only one who knew about it and kept her promise of not breathing a word to anyone.
