Sitting on his king size bed, holding the supposed 'stolen' Mehek's Mom's recipe book Shaurya was thinking of all the beautiful moments he spent in Sharma House with people who trusted him blindly with their precious daughter. Blinking away the tears that welled in his dark orbs partially blurring the sight of the book, Shaurya tossed the book on the side table and sat empty handed, contemplating. Life was never fair with him, never! All the past events took a toll on him. Deciding not to give get week, he took his medicines and got into a deep slumber.
Feeling restless in his glittering beige and maroon sherwaani, Shaurya paced up and down. Thinking it was just the normal anxiety before marriage, Shaurya tried to cheer him up imaging how beautiful Mehek would be looking in his chosen lengha. Before his Mom came to call him for the garland exchanging ceremony, his phone rang, 'Doctor' the caller ID read. His heartbeat rose. Picking up the call anxiously, he ferociously wished for his reports to be good, if not great. "See me as soon as possible in my clinic Mr. Khanna. I need to talk Something urgently." Doctor told in a way not wanting to scare his patient. "What it is Doctor?" Shaurya didn't want to wait to know what was serious. "We'll talk it face to face Mr. Khanna. See me as soon as possible." Doctor didn't want to disclose things on phone. "I'm getting married today." Shaurya told the Doctor. "I suggest you not to." Doctor was sad to say that but he needed to be practical. "What has happened to me?" Shaurya just wanted to know serious things were. "Sorry to say Mr. Khanna, there cancerous cells in your liver which are now malignant. Your reports also show many spots of such cells in other organs also, in short, you're detected with liver cancer in its third stage." Trying to keep the medical terms in use to lower the effect of the meaning, 'you got very less time," Doctor explained on the phone and everything was blur. (Note: not a medical expert, just wrote fictional things)
Shaurya woke up wirh a jerk. Everything happened that day is an everyday nightmare for him. He sat resting his head on the head rest, he took the file that had his reports. Flipping through the reports, he got all the more strength to get with his plan of making Mehek hate him and move on in her life. He felt helpless and it tore him that Mehek hated him but he just smiled through his tears thinking that's best for his Mehek. Of course, they gave her tears but she'll be spared from tears for rest of her life. She'll be happy, at least that's what he thought! Zindagi kahan kisike ke mutaabik chalti hai!
