BOI: Star RankingBadhaai Ho Among Top Ten Openings The Year

Badhaai ho has taken the 8th best openingof the year and is very much on the lines offilms like Raazi and Stree. The multiplexes in metros have generally opened better than Stree but outside metros it is less while Raazi is very similar though it has to be noted that its is partial holiday for the film. In real value the film has opened similar to Raazi in Northern and Central india but collections in Mumbai, Gujarat, South and East will get to Raazi levels due to the holiday factor.



Namaste London has all sorts of release problems with no advance at the big chains and screenings being limited and this is because the distributors agreed with the single screens to open the film in MP when there is a strike going there at the moment.


The collections of this film are very low and even screenings less and it could be just 20-30% of Badhaai Ho for the first day.



Baaghi 2 still has the best occupancy on the first morning this year but the bigger films are coming in the last two months.



The top ten openings in 2018 in terms of occupancy in morning shows are as follows.



If the ocupancy is the same then the film with higher screen count is places higher for ranking purposes.

2. Sanju - 55% (4200 screens)



3. Gold - 52.5% (3050 screens)



4. Race 3 - 50% (4300 screens)



5. Satyameva Jayate - 45% (2550 screens)



6. Padmaavat - 42.5% (3750 screens)



7. Veere Di Wedding - 35% (2200 screens)

8. Badhaai Ho - 30% (2000 screens).

Raazi - 30% (1800 screens)

10. Stree - 27.5% (1950 screens).

Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety - 27.5% (1650 screens)
