Can't Dida be strong enough to support Mauli?

If Yamini can be strong enough to support her daughter against her son then why cant Dida be.

I am very disappointed with Dida.Mauli clearly told that she can raise her child alone and nothing left in her marriage.Still dida saying I will not let the marriage break.The marriage is already broken.

I think Dida is portraying how typical elders behave when a marriage is failing - they usually tell the woman to try to "make it work" rather than endure being a single divorced woman

Dida is behaving like typical elder .

DIda is the matariarch of the family. Their role is to ensure that the families do not break and make sure marriages for ever. Hence, she is doing exactly what she is supposed to do except for talking to Kunal. I would have been surprised if DIda would not have taken this steps. Radhika is suppose to be a mixture of modern MIL with respect for old traditions and she is performing her role fantastically too of balancing the two generations and their thinking.

The only thing that I do not like is that they are not putting the same pressure on Kunal or trying the same tactics on him.
