Sumitra probably lost her powers and got thrown out of naaglok because she did something horrible. Maybe tried to kill baby Mahir for naagmani. Like Voldemort tried to kill baby Harry after killing his parents and lost his powers. That kind of situation.

That's why she wants Mahir dead so she can get her powers back and she needs naagmani for that. Hence this whole twisted plan. I am almost sure she's Vikrant's mom and is only using Mahir to get her powers back.

I think Sumi Maa can still be the snake or ex snake. She was the one who proposed to Bella to become her daughter in law. She must have known somehow that Bella is the Naagrani. Most people who are much richer do not want their sons or daughters to marry those who are below them in terms of economic status. Especially those who are much lower in terms of economic status. However, the rich Sehgal family who has everything chose a farmer's daughter above all else to be their daughter in law. They even offer Bella's father should his daughter marry their son and become their daughter in law they would forgive the debts that he owed them.

It was not sumi who proposed d marriage but it was Yuvi who prosposed d marriage & it was Andy who send d proposal as Yuvi was forcing , sumi thought Bela could change Yuvi after marriage as Andy taunted her.
