While there are multiple opinions here, the current scenario could also be to show difference between Palak and Geeta.. Geeta( or rather the initial Rekha 😆 ) kept mentioning that she loved VP and married him because she assumed he will make it big in life and when their financial status got stagnated, she left out of frustation..

For Palak it is reverse, she married the richest and most successful guy around who had to leave family and riches for her..Geeta and VP both seem to be confident that Palak will also leave their son and they can shout from roof top.. VP can say afterall Palak was a gold digger, Geeta can claim she was not wrong back then..

May be to showcase this angle, they are not letting Ritwik earn successfully..

I wouldn't worry much about it. Ritiwk knows what he wants to do and it has been not even a month for their wedding. Doing start up, arranging investment finances takes time no matter how intelligent and qualified you are. He did get job temprorily but left for palak. And palak anyways was gonna do job alwyas so she was focused on finding one and got it. It's not same for ritiwk. He dint foresee all this so he needs time to figure out.

Also, he gave up everything willingly l. It's not that he dint save money or had his own account it's just he did not want anything. Nobody asked him to do that. And in meanwhile, if he works at house then that's absolutely fine.
