Then Kunal realising that he loved Mauli more but when he returns to her then she should not give a dam and just move on.Kunla should feel jealous,regretful.Plus he should be humiliated by the society for betraying her wife.

When Kunal leaves Nandini for Mauli,Nandini can shiver and cry.She could also try reaching out for her "best friend" but Mauli should not give a dam.And public humiliation should go on for her whole life.

I guess then by the time they die they "MIGHT" realise that they were wrong in betraying Mauli

Infact nowadays I read written updates "only" to see any humiliation or punishment for Kunal and Nandini
