Chapter 4
'Yes I'm coming' Geet answered looking a little relieved, Maan still continued to pace the ground and then immediately brushed closer towards her once she hung up.
'I'll drop you off home' he had asked flipping out his phone watching the evening grey clouds, with every intension of calling for a taxi. Living in the middle of London had made him value two things: take-outs and public transport, especially the black cabs.
'It's ok my friend's downstairs waiting' she added with a gentle smile as he again walked towards the window, only now noticing the Red Audi A6 parked on the opposite side of the road. A young female sat idly drumming her fingers against the steering wheel.
'Fine I'll see you out' he had stated walking towards the cloak hanger giving Geet no room to argue, so she found herself accepting the coat he held out for her before following him out the door.
She stood silently as he locked the door and then both walked down the eerily passage way, the green carpet spirited against the white walls and the black doors, which opened into fellow flats. The feel of the apartment building was nice and cosy unlike her residence that was situated in a posh area however lacked warmth. So when people whished; Geet couldn't help but smile back at the strangers.
'Hey Maan' a guy wished stepping into the lift along with them. Both Maan and the guy, Steve broke into a conversation or more like a tease session. With Liverpool winning, Maan rather rudely rubbed the burn after all Chelsea lost
'Yeah well next time you'll see' Steve bullied a pat onto Maan's shoulder, a smirk of arrogance playing on his face as Maan laughed in mock pushing him out the lift and then continued their banter into the foyer until they heard the car horn on the other side. It was then Maan finally keyed back to a silent Geet who was tuned to the ground.
'Maan this is my address, please do let me know of your decision soon' Geet forwarded a piece of paper after Maan had waved off his neighbour, both still looked uncomfortable however he did attempt a smile as she stepped ahead edging towards the standing car
'Is that THE FATHER?' Sameera asked incredulously looking back at the man who dropped her friend to the car before returning to his apartment
'Hmm' Geet answered concentrating on pulling the damned seat belt over her bulging stomach
'Geet have you seen him, oh I wish I was pregnant with his baby?' she dreamed gluing herself to the window with a look of fantasy
'SAM' Geet reprimanded in a no-nonsense voice as the belt zoomed back to its lock making Geet cry out in frustration
'Oh sorry babe, look everything fine. The belt is on, the car is ready' Sameera instantly sang seeing her best friend dissolve into another pitiful cry: pregnancy looked hard especially today when a cheating partner is caught
'He has a ONE FINE truck' she whispered for her ears only taking a right but again it caught Geet who for the first time realised she hadn't really paid much attention to the father of her baby, even his apartment got more attention then he himself.
'Oh lord' she prayed grudgingly seeing how her friend wore a face of excitement, an expression which told of Sam's interest in Maan.
'This is going to be hard' she told herself and more to her baby; knowing Sam, her friend would try every trick in the book to please Maan Singh Khuranna.
