A source confirmed to us that Alia Bhatt will be paired with Vicky Kaushal in Takht. The two have shared screen space before in the critically acclaimed and commercially successful Raazi. On the other hand, Ranveer Singh will be romancing Janhvi Kapoor. Takht will be the debutante's second film after Dhadak, which was also a Dharma venture. We are guessing that Janhvi will be Nadira Banu Begum who was a Mughal princess. The role may not be a large one as Nadira died before her husband, Dara was executed.

I guess that would of made some sense when the rumors of RK was the initial choice for the role Vicky got because I could see Karan matching up his favs. Also isn't Ranveer and Janhvi suppose to be related in some kind of way?

wat has this got to do with upgrading or downgrading? the main story is about the two brothers fighting for the throne, jhanvi and alia will be playing the love interests/wives, so it doesn't really matter who is paired opposite rs or vicky

^^^Vicky Kaushal gets tp play the all important role of Aurangzeb-historically speaking.

He also has the no.1 heroine opposite him.

I don't understand the casting..

Takht wudn't have a story without Dara Shikoh, so both brothers are the most important parts, and wat wud alia's part consist of? just like jhanvi she will be playing a love interest, its Kareena who has the strongest female part in the film

i'm excited to see jhanvi and ranveer opposite each other, its a new pairing whereas we hav seen vicky and alia already in a film before

Looks like a pr article to me. When Takht was announced all the articles were talking about Kareena and Ranveer's role being piovotal but this is written to make Vicky's role as the piovotal one.

TM, Ranveer is related to Sonam from her mother's side. So Jhanvi and him are not related.

Actually dara shikoh was the favourite of of shah jahan and jahanara i believe. Also of the court. Learned and poised and all.

Aurangzeb was the brother who was more cunning and iron hand. He had factions supporting him in the court but most supported dara probably. Was he not the elder son? Next in line.

So ranveer is getting the bigger role.

Ranbir and prabhas both rejected aurangzeb role as it was too short i think. The media printed articles about ranbir having problems with work8ng with rs...but that was their theory. Prabhas and anushka rejected the film as well...and prabhas had the same problem ranbir had with the role.

Ranveer had the main role...and vicky as usual gets the second lead part.

Dunno about the girls. I must say jhanvi looks the part of a princess better than alia. Alia does not have the look of aprincess.

i do agree that jhanvi has more of a look of a princess, she wud look gorgeous in the traditional outfits, alia is pretty but she is more plain looking

yes Dara shikoh is the elder brother and next in line, he was the favourite of his father and sister, Aurengzeb was greedy and tried to snatch the throne from Dara, this is wen the two brothers go to war

Poor Alia..if only she could have gotten a film on her own.She would have not been kicked around in a multi starrer.But then why would any director sign Alia,without getting Kjo's money? She makes everything so dull.

I think ,casting Alia as second lead,has made Bhatt make a film for Alia beti.

See,Jhanvi is the real starkid.She belongs to Kjo's social circle-he hosted aunt Maheep's B'day Party!!.BTW all 3 Kapoor brothers married money.Arjun's maternal grandmother was Sattee Shouri,probably the richest & most powerful.

Who are Bhatts? lately they are producers of sleaze films..

Well i liked alia in highway udta and kapoor and sons.

And raazi she was really good in. Really good. IMO.

Have not watched anything else of hers.

She is quite a good actor. But i think kjo should let her off a bit on her own now. She can get films on her own and get credits for those parts too then. Too kuch of kjo behind her takes away from her own stature.

But i agree on what you sais about the bhatts. I cannot stand anyone from that camp except for soni razdan. She is a sweetheart. Mahesh bhatt and emraan eep. Sleaze movies is right.

Heaven knows what will happen when suhana comes in. I hope she has a bit of her fathera talent in her.
