Hey people, I have been on this forum for many years now but haven't been very active lately.
After many years of graduating in my field , I started my post graduation this year in a city which is far away from home with no social support as for now. The pg is tough, it is study + work for v long hours which has been very stress inducing...Thus leading to further loss in my productivity...I feel so morose these days, how do you guys manage stress? I know it is not the platform to share my personal stuff but there was no where else to go.

It is tough studying and being away from home friends and everything else...but you have to find the medium that helps you to relax..for me it is just a few minutes of disconnecting myself..doesn't need to be long period of time..and do something that i like...be it painting..reading a novel or simply listening to music disconnects me to anything thing that is becoming too steessful..go for a walk or just go open a window look out side..just disconnect yourself for a few mins from everything...yoga has helped a lot and there are some simple eexecises that you can do..

Hi Neha, congrats on your med school graduation. I remember you mentioned a while ago. Best wishes for your PG!! It's tough to study and be away from home.

Reading, music, exercise, and just doing self awareness exercises helps me. I'm kinda of an extravert so I join a local group through meet ups. If there's no group in my interest, then I start one. I also volunteer in an organization I like.

Hope you find your groove in a new place and thrive. All the best:)!

Make friends Dear. But be careful, it's important you make good friends who can support you away from home.

Like Prani said, try joining a gym or swimming- exceecise relaxes your body and mind. I am very bad at it but I can say planning your work in advance reduces stress.

All the best!! You will soon be doing great.

Ps: we are always there for you beyond this show. You can always share what you feel.

Hey Ann, Prani and Rishu...Thanks a lot for your replies🤗
I know I am late but past few months have been difficult but I think I have begun to cope with the circumstances.. I chose to be in psychiatry, it is a bit different than I imagined it to be and talking about mental illnesses does require a lot of patience. I hope to be better than what I am right now.

Hey Moodyblue, hello, you would not have known me before but I am Dorianne. I understand what you are going through but try to take things easy. Get proper balanced diet, good sleep and then modes of relaxation of your liking. Try to relax in whatever you are doing, don't overload yourself, take each day as it comes, schedule things as per your capacity. Try yoga if time permits, it might relax you more. All the best.😊
