I can't seem to now understand his stubbornness and resistance ...It doesn't look like he is doing it to save Ricky..He even outright lied to Rithwik that Palak had sent her mother...Whereas he had asked Mamta to call Manjeet and was rude to her.. he still tells Puri that Ananya Ricky marriage will happen and needs Rishabh's help...Why does he need to scheme ? Is he just doing all this to prove that his judgement is correct even if he has to use incorrect methods to prove it ?

I think all characters core have gone for a toss just to bring in a misunderstanding .n separation

^^^ Reeva is the only one which has been maintained character wise. But VP and Mamta's equation was not like they are showing now ...the entire thing is looking very contrived to make a fiasco happen

I was watching the episode again today . He behaved like a maniac when he spoke to everyone and specially Mamta to choose between husband and son. What is wrong with this man ? He supposedly loves his wife but he has continuously been insulting her ever since Palak discussion has come up

I also think telling Mamta to choose between her husband and son was OTT especially when he doesn't want to give her any more stress..the man is either as impulsive as Ritwik was earlier or has totally gone Bonkers

I think not all humans behave consistently. People behave irrationally when subjected to difficult situations. Ritiwk was all playboy flirty in front of thr world but at the mention of his past he used to get all emotional, defensive. When pushed to a limit, every person behaves different to their usual nature. All cool, happy parents often become over possessive and strict when they sense soemthifn bad for their children. Also one partner is alwyas dominant in a relationship and in this case it was Mamata. But in certain situations roles get reversed in real life as well when one of the partner wants their way no matter wat. And they use all past to get it done like "I always listened to you but this one time it's my turn. It's happening in VO-mamta case.

VP also did not forget his past. He trusts rishabh and whole prenup was real mess. It's easy for him to blame palak and her mom than rishabh. He is not really blaming ritiwk but he feels ritiwk is brianswashed by palak. VP was slated over protective of ritiwk and in this case he is being irrational in his insecurities.

As much as I have seen human behavior, it's not consistent alwyas. People goes out of character many times. When they fall in love, they do stupid things which they would hv never done otherwise. Under certain difficult situations which they had kot faced in the past, they behave very differently. It really depends on situation, past, your friends around you at that time. Same situation people handle differently of it comes at differnt time in the life or people who r advising then are differnt. We are always influenced by people around us that's y they say choose your friends wisely.
