I don't know why there should be confusion regarding the tattoo.. Unless it is given by goddess herself, would it have any power? Does the symbol in itself hold any power? Sorry if it is a stupid question... Even if it is so a minute error in the symbol could nullify that.

Long back I remember watching a movie on black magic or Adharva practice.. There there is a kind of rangoli with different geometric shapes. It is mentioned that once a circle is put in the centre of it, it holds power or represents the deity. when someone accidently puts a spot on that exact position the hero immediately smudges it so that it is no longer a circle in the middle. Similarly may be the tattoo is not an exact replica of Devi ma's symbol
