"Chakor!"
"Yes my dear Mother!"

Pulling the curtains from the little cart they were in "We shall move!" she said;
Just with a nod of head, the man made the horses to make their way.
"How much time it will take to reach there, Mother?"
"2 more hours and we will be in the city of Fetedar!" smiling and going in to trace "I remember the time when I was last there. It was with your Father, just two months after our marriage. Lovely old days."
The young smiled at her mother as continue to admire the beauty of the nature.
In Fetedar.
"Finally! You made it to here!"
Smiling "Finally!"
"After years of trying, you reached on time for the festival." putting his hand over his friend's shoulder "Come in!" as he attached the horse.
"There was always something blocking the way Kali! Weather, family, work or something."
"Find a reason to justify yourself Suraj!"
Shaking his head.
"Come in! Mother is waiting for you!" his friend.

"Yes Mother!" the girl in her floral dress, adorned with simple jewels and make-up, shining as bright as sun.
"Reenu aunt is here! I'm going to see her! Do you want to come with me, Chakor?"
"Can I stay with Lise?" she told her wish adding a smile that contaminated even her friend who smiled at the elder lady.
"Of course! Take care!"
"I will take care of her Madam!"
Nodding her head and moving from there "Be here only! I will be back in minutes!"
"Sure mother!" the young girl replied sitting on the stairs of the temple of the goddess of wishes.
Not far from there.
"Is it always this colorful?"
"You should have come before to see that each year the beauty and the grandeur of the event just increases."
Nodding his head as his eyes traveled here and there, catching the lovely sights of shops and foods exposed and colorful lights flashing on the ornaments present there.
Moving forward and enjoying the view, one thing made him freeze, more than a thing, a person. The beauty at her best laughing with her musical sound as everything around her vanished in a second for his eyes.
"Suraj!" Kali called him as he got scared seeing his friend being paralyzed.
Coming out of his state, a smile spread in his lips as an idea clicked in his mind.
"Don't worry Kali! Your friend is still sane!" he said seeing his friend's expression "I will be back!" and he ran away from there and not even a minute passed and he was already there with an apple in his hand and his friend could see something scribed on it and also noticed his friend's smile which made him also smile.
Nearing the girl, going around them, standing on the stop of the few stairs, he put the apple down and with a gentle push, he made it reach her, the beauty.
Feeling something touching her arm, she turned her concentration towards the Apple and picked it, seeing words on it, she read it and that too a bit louder, in a way that her friend could hear but it was also heard by the men who were just few steps away from them.
"I swear on the Goddess of wishes to marry Suraj!" as the words flow in the air, her face reaction changed.
Not liking the feeling she is going through, she threw the apple in the nearby dustbin without even carrying to look for the person who could have sent it.
Feeling hurt, the young man left from there and the event continued around them and for them but the voidness in Suraj's heart never left him after that.
While the young lady forgot the event with the news her father was waiting with.
"Rajats will be here by tomorrow morning! Make our daughter shine like a bride so that they take our Chakor with themselves as their bride."
And as said, the Rajats arrived but not in a state of asking for the girl's hand but to say a NO for any relationship with this place and these people as all they encountered on their way were obstacles and nothing good to describe.
Taking this as the sign to be calm and search correspondingly, Chakor's father found another match and this time the supposed groom family arrived on time but the to be bride was not even in a state of standing as she was touched by chickenpox along with high fever.
Feeling that the time was not appropriate, two months passed.
And during all these time, the young man who was far away from his love, was always in the thought of his girl who he met only once and that too in the temple of the goddess of wishes. With the faith he has on his wish, he left the decision to the goddess.
"Mayur family is coming day after tomorrow. But before that, I think of meeting our temple's priest." Chakor's father.
"Please ask him when we have to do the pooja to thank Maa for saving our daughter!" his wife said with tears as she remembered the state of her daughter who reached close to death but luckily got saved.
"Your daughter has committed a big fault!" the old man in the temple.
"What are you saying?"
"Ask her if she hadn't forgotten any promise to our goddess!"
"It's related to a promise made to god?" her father asked.
"Ask yourself too if you haven't forgotten anything."
"I.. I didn't!"
"Then go and ask your daughter!"
And the time he was back home, Chakor's friend, Lise came to visit her.
"Hello Uncle!"
"Hello dear! How are you?"
"Good uncle! I heard that the groom family is coming tomorrow. Let's pray that all goes well."
"I too pray that we don't leave any promise unfulfilled."
"What do you mean uncle?"
"Chakor is going through problems as some promises hadn't been fulfilled!"
"Could it be like this?" she asked surprised.
"What is it dear?"
And the story of their travel to the fair was revealed to Chakor's father.
"Tell everyone to prepare for the wedding on coming auspicious day!" as he departed from there "My daughter will marry the one she vowed to!"
And with no delay, arrangements were made and couple got married.
"My intention was not to hurt you but to love you forever!" he said as they were on their marriage bed, sitting face to face.
She simply nodded her head.
"I started to love you the very first moment my eyes met you!"
A simple smile cracked on her lips hearing her husband.
"I swear I will give you all the happiness in this world!"
And she murmured "I swear!"
