Maan glanced over his shoulder hearing the door open, he could've sworn his heart leaped as his eyes landed on his wife. The day of the wedding was finally here and they were here in Shimla. They'd arrived yesterday evening and booked into the lodge where Geet had booked everyone in, and just a 10 minutes' drive from here Vikrant and Meera's wedding was being held at a venue which over looked the snowy mountains of Shimla. Geet had donned one white saree with a navy border wanting to dress in similar colours to her husband, the netted saree went perfectly with her jewellery she'd been gifted by her husband. Unaware of Maan staring at her, Geet continued getting ready, she pulled out her bangles box and slipped on her silver and blue bangles that matched her saree.
Geet's look
"Maan" she glanced over her shoulder holding her sindoor box.
"Only put that on if it's your own choice not for others" Maan spoke.
"It is" Geet frowned. "I thought it'd go nicely and complete my look" she muttered.
"Alright" he nodded approaching her, pinching some sindoor he filled her parting. "I only said that because last time you were conscious of what our relatives will say"
"Hmm..." she hummed. "How do I look?" she questioned.
"Beautiful" he responded.
"Good" she nodded whipping out her phone, leaning back on him she grinned taking a selfie with Maan. She was a little too fast for him to even respond.
"I hope you're not posting that anywhere" Maan voiced.
"I don't post our photos anywhere" she smiled. "These are for me to enjoy, I look at our pictures when I'm with the serious angry sadu and remember when my husband smiled"
"You've become really talkative lately" he tugged her close.
She chuckled shyly pressing her face into the hollow of his neck.
Maan placed his hands on her hips holding her gently. "I wanted to ask you something..."
"Hmm?" she lifted her head looking up questioningly.
"Do you have any social media account?"
"Just Instagram" she responded.
"Can... like anybody see your account?"
"Oh no, mine is private. I've only got a handful of people on it. Just like Vikrant and my friends" she explained. "Why?" she looked curious.
"Nothing" he shook his head offering a small smile. "Let's go check on Vikrant and see if he's ready. We've gotta to head to the venue soon" he changed the subject.
Geet knew inwardly that he was hiding something and it was clear that he didn't want to speak just yet so she allowed him to change the subject walking out of their room and towards the room Vikrant was staying in.
As the same time and in a different hotel Meera was being helped by Amelia and Puja in getting ready. While they pinned her long dupatta in place she slipped in her gold bangles, her eyes drawn to her dark henna stain which she'd been teased mercilessly by her friends and cousin as to how much her Vikrant loved her.
She stared at the dark stain for a moment, her heart pumping rapidly as the time drew closer, in just a couple of hours she'd been his wife in front of their family and friends. She can now say openly she is married to Vikrant.
"Done" Amelia pressed her cheek to Meera's staring at her reflection. "Meers, you look stunning" she whispered softly.
Meera looked at herself in the mirror and found herself blushing.
"Geet really has chosen such a beautiful lengha" Amelia praised.
"I wanted to get this really nice gold one for you" Puja spoke. "But this is way nicer, it's one of Manish Malhotra's" she added.
"It's really stunning" Meera agreed loving the colour and design. "It's different from the usual red traditional ones which I hate" she chuckled.
"Mmhmm" Amelia nodded. "How do I look by the way?" she asked twirling around.
"This is beautiful, swear down it's kind of hard to believe this is our Geet's choice" Meera smiled.
Puja cleared her throat.
"Yeah thank you for helping her as well..." Amelia laughed.
"Actually I helped her with the men's sherwani" Puja corrected. "She chose the sarees an all because she knew you guys more"
"What's Vikrant wearing?" Meera asked.
"You'll see" Puja grinned. "You're going to love the venue she chose though, it's absolutely stunning and so so beautiful"
"Don't make me jealous" Amelia whined. "I want to be angry at her for not telling me..."
"Your anger will melt once you see the venue" Puja winked.
"Aww..." Amelia pouted. "When are we setting off?" she glanced around making the others laugh shaking their heads.
"You've done me proud bhabhi" Vikrant turned facing Geet as she entered the room.
"Done you proud?" she frowned in confused.
"Yeah, I mean I didn't know you had such good tastes" he replied turning to face the mirror.
"Kya kahan?" Geet twisted his ear.
"Bhabhi what the hell" he winced.
"Apologise" Geet replied. "How could you say that to me? You of all people?"
"Alright, alright! I'm sorry" he moaned, Geet smiled releasing him and he rubbed his ear scowling at her.
"Are you all ready?" Dadima entered with Araina and Karan alongside her. She grinned looking around at all of them feeling pleased with the choices Geet had made.
"Everything has been fantastic Geet" Dadima praised patting her cheek. "You've helped me out so much and lessened the stress on me"
"Dadima..." Geet muttered shyly.
"Maan bete, car's are here for us all" Dadima turned to Maan.
"Hmm, Geet why don't you give someone a call to Meera's side and tell them to also set off towards the venue" he suggested. "They'd arrive 10-15 minutes later than us as their venue is further away than ours" he added.
Geet agreed and sent off a text to Amelia, once done they all headed down the stairs and climbed into the waiting cars.
"f**k..." Vikrant gaped in awe at the White Jaguar F Pace 2016 that was parked outside the lodge glistening and catching his attention compared to the other cars.
"Really swearing on your wedding day?" Karan rolled his eyes.
"I think I fell in love" Vikrant touched the white Jaguar grinning widely. "Please tell me I'm going in this to my wedding"
"How about if I say you're driving there?" Geet asked holding the keys out.
Vikrant stiffened in surprise, his eyes widened and for a moment it seemed he stopped breathing.
"Vikrant..." Geet nudged.
"Please tell me you're not playing some cruel joke" Vikrant held onto Geet's shoulders tightly. "Because if you are, I swear bhabhi I'm going to do something..."
"Vikrant I'm not joking" Geet giggled. "This is a present from Maan, dadima and me" she rattled the keys.
Vikrant yelped happily taking the keys and lifted Geet up into his arms.
"Vikrant, put me down" Geet smacked his shoulder giggling and blushing in embarrassment. "Smile" Krystal called out taking a picture.
"Krystal..." Geet whined smacking Vikrant's shoulder. "Put me down now"
"Bhabhi I'm so f**king happy" Vikrant yelled excitedly. "I have been dying to buy this car.."
Maan hated seeing his wife in his brother's arm and was itching to say something however he held himself back, it was after all his little brother's wedding.
"You're not getting the car if you don't put me down" Geet threatened and in an instant he placed her onto her feet shaking her head at him. He only grinned pressing a kiss to her cheek and like a kid hurriedly climbed into the driving seat.
"Don't be driving off without us" Dadima laughed.
"Karan, Araina you lot go in the jaguar" Geet pointed.
"Which car are you going to come in?" Karan questioned.
"I've hired a car for us" Maan responded pointing to the black Jaguar XF behind.
"Alright, we'll meet you at the venue then. Does Vikrant know where it is?" Dadima asked.
"Yeah, he knows where it's being held. Just write in the address into your navigator, you'll reach the venue in 10 minutes or so" Maan turned to Vikrant.
"Okay" Vikrant replied tapping the steering wheel excitedly while dadima, Araina and Karan climbed in joining him. Once the last door closed, he drove off down the driveway and out of sight within seconds.
"Guess he liked the present" Maan looked at Geet who'd chuckled moving towards their hired car...
Meera felt her eyes glisten a little as she took in the wedding venue, it was much much better than she'd ever imagined. It was a winter wedding like she'd always rattled on about with her friends. Even if she tried to describe it, there wouldn't be enough words. Geet really listened to her when she'd gone on blabbering about what sort of wedding she wanted. It seemed like she'd walked into some fairy tale wedding venue that some brides can only imagine from afar. This was her reality because her best friend had it made that way.
She dipped her eyes down blinking back the tears not wanting to ruin her makeup and pulled herself together walking down towards the stage where Vikrant was waiting.
She smiled brightly taking in how handsome he looked in the gorgeous gold sabyasachi sherwani. He looked a royal prince stood there with his head held high and staring right at her grinning widely as she took small steps forward.
Geet smiled watching Vikrant and Meera mutter something to each other as the pandit started reciting off verses. She glanced at Maan who stood besides her watching with a relaxing small smile as his little brother was getting married. She recalled how their wedding had gone, she was promising under her dupatta that she wouldn't be accepting this marriage. She blushed when Maan arched his brows curiously having caught her staring, shaking her head she turned away and focused on her brother in law and best friend tying the knot.
"What are you thinking?" Maan asked taking a step closer to his wife.
She shook her head in response smiling softly.
"You shouldn't be thinking about our bedroom Geet whilst your devar is being married off" Maan whispered teasingly.
"Maan..." she gaped at him in surprise.
"Focus on the wedding, not at me" he winked.
"Aap ko main baad mein dekh lungi" she muttered looking away from him.
"Geet..." Maan took another step closer discreetly.
She hummed in response not looking away.
"You look beautiful"
His words instantly made her smile...
Numerous pictures were clicked once Vikrant and Meera were announced husband and wife, Krystal had everyone lining up beside and behind the newly weeded taking pictures for the wedding album. Once there were more than enough pictures of family, Amelia dragged only her friends and took pictures with Vikrant and Meera.
Dadima announced dinner was going to be served soon and everyone should take their seats where their names were placed on the tables.
Geet had the bride and groom table near the very front and quite a bit of space from the other tables knowing how some of her family didn't like the relatives especially her husband.
One the bride and grooms table, it was Vikrant, Meera, Geet, Maan, dadima, Karan, Araina, Anisha around one side of the table, then on the opposite side of the large rectangular table were Veena, Raj, Rano, Mohini, Amelia, Puja, Arav, Ranbir and Krystal.
Amelia took the chair that was facing Geet and the person who happened to take the seat right beside her was Arav. Puja's hot brother.
"This is all so beautiful Geet" Amelia informed looking around.
"Arav helped a lot" Geet replied smiling at him.
Maan cursed his fate, as if the numerous pictures they'd taken wasn't enough, now it had to be the joker that'd sat diagonally opposite his wife. Atop of that Geet was praising him.
"It was nothing" Arav responded. "I enjoyed helping, I got to meet beautiful women" he winked wiggling his brows teasingly.
Geet's cheeks heated and she dipped her eyes down shyly.
"And I got to meet a very handsome bachelor" Amelia added smirking at Arav.
Karan grated his teeth looking away elsewhere and everywhere when Amelia and Arav flirted with each other. bas***d. First bhabhi then that crazy ass...he cursed inwardly.
He reminded himself this is Vikrant's big day and he couldn't just leap across and beat Arav up into a pulp. However his annoyance doubled when he looked between his sister and her so called friend. They were both sat mere inches away, his hand holding hers as they ate and chatted with each other.
f**k my life he thought...
By the time dinner was over with, Maan was irritated to the point where he'd had to head out of the venue needing some fresh air. Throughout dinner Geet had conversed with her friends and that f**king Arav. The bas***d wouldn't stop flirting despite him being sat right there opposite him. He wanted to hit something so much right now. He would've liked it better if he was able to hit Arav's f**king face. He brushed a hand through his hair roughly muttering curses to himself...
"Meers you want to change into something comfortable?" Geet leaned down.
"Have you got another outfit?" Meera questioned curiously.
"Yeah, we've got a room in this venue hall booked for you. You've been in the lengha for too long now and there's most of the night still left"
"You're a lifesaver" Meera stood up hugging Geet tightly. "God I'm feeling so hot in this and we're out in the mountains" she chuckled.
"Before you change, head towards the back and get some photos taken with the mountains backdrop" Geet suggested. "Krystal, Vikrant" she gestured them over.
"Krystal, just get some photos with everyone outside. Back exit would be better because the mountains and sky is much more clearer from there" she informed.
Krystal agreed and informed Araina to gather just close family and friends, she didn't want to be standing outside to be snapping pictures away of everyone.
"Aren't you coming?" Meera asked when they'd all started moving towards the back but Geet.
"I'll join you in a bit" she responded smiling and turned towards the front exit knowing Maan had gone through there.
"Maan" she called noticing him stood with his back towards the venue and seemed to be in deep thoughts.
Maan turned around facing his wife who was staring at him curiously.
"Why did you just suddenly leave Maan?"
"I'm surprised you noticed Geet" he replied.
"Huh..." Geet stared at him confused. "Aapko kya hua?"
"God..." he sighed. "I can't believe this..."
"What?" Geet still seemed confused wondering what suddenly overcame her husband.
"How can you even ask that? It's an obvious answer" he responded.
"What is?" she frowned. "Maan saaf saaf bataiye kya baat hai"
"You don't know what's wrong with me?" he questioned.
"No, I don't. You just got up after you finished saying you need to catch some fresh air. We're out here in the mountains, it's cold" she replied.
"I like the cold"
"Why wouldn't you? You're a cold rock"
"What the... Why are we even arguing?"
"I should be asking you that. You left the table, I came to check on you and you're giving me attitude" she frowned. "And I didn't even do anything"
"You didn't do anything?" he muttered lowering his head.
"No and if I did do something, you're going to have to tell me" she crossed her arms.
"All throughout the dinner you were smiling away at that rat faced Arav and flirting back" he answered. "You didn't even look away"
"What?" she gaped at him stumped.
"You heard me Geet" Maan replied turning away from her crossing his arms.
Geet covered her mouth giggling as she realised why her husband was annoyed. She glanced around to see whether anyone had followed them outside then moved towards him.
She slipped her arms around Maan resting her chin on his shoulder. "You're jealous" she chuckled softly.
"Geet..." Maan stepped away from her arms turning around to face her.
Geet bit down on her lip trying to hold back her laugh when she saw how serious Maan was.
"That isn't funny" he clenched his jaw.
"Maan..." she closed the distance sliding her arms around his middle and tilted her head back. "He was flirting with me, I didn't respond back. I was talking mostly to Amelia and staring at her" she explained.
Maan sighed. "I f**king hate the bas***d"
"I can't believe you got jealous over..."
"I wasn't jealous. His voice was irritating me" Maan cut her off.
"Mmhmm. I believe you" she laughed.
Maan shook his head biting back his smile mockingly glaring at her which only made her laugh even more. Geet tiptoed holding onto his shoulder pressing a kiss to his cheek, he cracked and smiled down at his wife.
"C'mon there's some more pictures to be taken" Geet nudged pointing towards the back.
"No way" Maan shook his head. "We've had more than enough taken"
"Okay" she sighed rolling her eyes at him. "Anyways I'm going to go and take Meera upstairs to change out of the lengha and into her second outfit"
He hummed in response though wondered whether she'd be changing as well. "Are you getting changed as well?"
"I hadn't planned to, why?"
"No reason, this saree suits you"
Geet squeezed his hand in response and headed back inside to look for Meera and take her upstairs...
Meera had changed into a mint green and pink Manish Malhotra lengha which was a lot lighter than her bridal lengha. She left her hair as it was deciding to keep it up rather than letting it loose. Geet slipped off the heavy bridal jewellery and slipped on a simple diamond set which was absolutely stunning.
Meera noticed Geet smiling and arched her brows. "You look happy"
"I am" Geet nodded hooking the necklace and hugged Meera from behind. "We're sister in laws Meers" she giggled tightening her arms around her. "I am so happy and excited"
Meera laughed happily nodding her head. "It still feels unreal..." she stared at her parting that Vikrant had filled. "I'm actually married to Vikrant now" she turned around facing Geet.
"I can't thank you enough for everything... especially for this wedding" she sniffed biting down on her lower lip. "The whole day... from my lengha to the venue" she swallowed thickly. "Everything has been so perfect Geet"
"Stop, you're going to make me cry" Geet chuckled wiping a tear from the corner of her eye.
"I think it's wedding hormones" Meera wiped off her own tears now.
"Probably" Geet laughed sniffing. "I'm really happy you liked all of it" she opened her arms as did Meera and the both of them hugged each other.
"We should head down now" Geet pulled away after a moment dabbing off her tear mark. "There's still a long night ahead..."
Karan watched from the side when Amelia was asked to dance by Arav, he'd hoped she'd say no and look over at him but she didn't. Instead she grinned widely taking his hand and walked to the middle of the dance floor joining Meera and Vikrant who were dancing gracefully, gliding to their current favourite song kaun tujhe itna pyar karega.
"You're losing out" Araina spoke stepping beside him and staring at couples dancing.
"I didn't ask for your input" Karan responded.
"Neither did I ask for yours seeing as you're always interfering" she nudged him.
"Araina" Karan huffed.
"She's crazy but she isn't anything like Jen. In fact there isn't anyone else like her" Araina chuckled.
"I know that" he grated out quietly.
"So then why are you..." she sighed. "I don't understand what you're doing. You're all over the place. I know you like her else you wouldn't have kissed her like you did"
"That was a mistake" he groaned.
"That's not what you said to Amelia the other night" Araina reminded. "You did an asshole move as well that night"
"I don't need reminding thanks" he turned his head to his sister.
"The least you could do is apologise" she murmured gently.
"I... I tried today but she's not even bothered to spare me one glance. Her eyes are too busy on him" Karan responded in irritation.
"You need to get her to spare you a glance, then apologise" Araina placed her hand on his shoulder and squeezed. "Good luck, I'm rooting for you"
Karan chuckled sliding his arm around her waist and pressed a kiss to her temple. "I'm shit at everything..." he muttered.
"I know" Araina giggled. "Ow" she squealed when he poked her side. "Anyways I'm going, I've got someone waiting for a dance"
"Run off to Romeo" Karan released her watching his sister move towards Ranbir taking his hand and moving towards the middle of the dance floor.
"Maan bete, at least ask Geet now for a dance" Dadima looked at him wondering what would have become of him if she wasn't here.
"Dadima you know I don't..."
"I know but look at Geet. She's sat there with Rano talking and keeps glancing over her shoulder at everyone dancing" Dadima pointed.
"Dadima I..."
"Bete no one is going to gawk, today its Meera and Vikrant gawking day" she mocked. "Go and ask her" she nudged him. "You need to put some of those lessons you'd taken to use"
"Who says I haven't?" he replied surprising dadima. He didn't wait to hear what she'd say and walked across the hall towards Geet.
Rano nudged Geet when she noticed her son in law approaching them.
"Kya hua mama?" she frowned, Rano gestured and Geet looked over her shoulder smiling brightly. Her mouth dropped however when her husband spoke.
"Dance with me?" he held out his hand.
Whilst at the same time, on the other side of the room Karan approached Amelia mid-dance and asked "Can I step in?"
