I agree with each and every word of analysis you have come up with and I so agree with your last line. Things make so much more sense when we watch it again and the sheer brilliance of the serial in etching its characters and the narrative to follow right from episode 1 is simply mindboggling!
Come to think of it everything was out there right from episode 1 in Sid's dialogues, PS's dialogues, KK's dialogues, WOW! And all the literary quotes and the humour (Shakespeare bhi nahin nahata tha lol)).
