of words remind us of how ugly fights in
Bollywood can get. It all began when reports
of Sonu Sood's exit from Manikarnika: The
Queen of Jhansi started doing the rounds.
As soon as we contacted Kangana, she hit
back at Sonu saying that he left because he
wasn't ready to shoot under a woman
director and was not giving the team dates
to reshoot portions for the film. In an
ensuing event, Sonu's spokesperson and
later a source revealed that Sonu left the
movie because of Ranaut's "unprofessional"
behavior.
Now, Sonu himself has reacted to the
comment of "vehemently denying to work
under a woman director" and said, "The
gender of the director is not the issue.
Competence is. Let's not confuse the two.
I've worked with Farah Khan [For Happy
New Year] who's a competent woman
director and Farah and I had a great
professional equation and we are still best
of friends. That's all I would like to say." Well,
with Sonu's exit from the movie, Kangana
confirmed that they will be reshooting his
portions with someone else now.
Amidst this, Manikarnika's producer Kamal
Jain released a statement saying that Sonu
and they parted on mutual agreement and
that there is no bad blood between them.
Manikarnika will be releasing on January 25,
2019, alongside Super 30 which features
Hrithik Roshan.
Manikarnika has been running into
controversies for the longest time and we
wonder what more is left.
