Gold took a very good opening on Independence Day while Satyameva Jayate has also taken a good opening withboth films have been boosted by the big holiday. Gold has been released on 3050 screens while Satyameva Jayate has been released on 2500 screens.
Gold is more or less in the lead all over the country as per the morning collections. The way it is going the closest circuits are CP Berar, Nizam / Andhra, Bihar, Assam and Odisha and here the collections of both films are pretty similar. Anyone can come out on top but it will be a matter of a few lakhs in these circuits. The rest of India be it Delhi / UP, East Punjab or Mumbai its a healthy lead for Gold.
For Satyameva Jayate to challenge Gold it really had to compete more strongly in the likes of Jaipur, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Patna etc but here Gold has a good lead. The collections are closer in places like Bokaro,Ratlam, Sangli etc but here the difference is in thousands while in the likes of Jaipur and Patna it is in lakhs in favour of Gold.Nevertheless Satyameva Jayate may be second best in the clash but the opening is good for the type of film it is while Gold has the boost of a strong initial while being a content film so it has solid potential if the content can work.
