Who knows ? if it strikes a chord it could be like the Marati movie Sairat that made 100 plus crores. Point is, Varun could have stuck to making the same, tired Masala movies. But he chose to experiment in a small movie, which required him to act and not be a star. Movies like these are the ones that grow BW as a film industry, give it respectability from the cliched "running around trees" stereotype. He did it when he did not have to.

As for TM, wonder why such topics are pretty much started by newbies. 🤔

Just like Ranbir and Ranveer without Bhansali, Deepika or Hirani couldn't get over 50/60cr

Atleast Varun got 4 100cr films without the support of any big names. And if October's 42cr is underperformance for a film with limited appeal and lack of promotions and face value then face it, both Lootera and Bombay Velvet made below 30cr with bigger release, marketing, promotions, cast and music

Maybe all this conception and theory exists in your fantasy world'

Do you always have to bring other actors while defending fav lol. RK also had a YJHD long back with a newbie director and not so successful Deepika. Varun with Salman remake on a holiday couldnt beat that

OT: desi patriotic films are in vogue, so it should certainly do 150 cr with big holiday on gabdhi jayanti.

Besharam had an universally trashed trailer,no popular heroine,it came on holiday and made 20CR+ on it's first day...can Sui Dagha beat that?😛

Didn't Besharam released on national holiday?

Comparison should be like to like and Sui Dhaaga doesn't seems fully commerical movie. So fair comparison would be to compare with Jagga Jasoos opening of 8cr which I think this movie will beat.
