Karan Johars film Dostana will soon have
it's sequel. Although the news has been
anticipated for a while but it awaited the
ace producer-director's nod for the script
of Dostana's sequel.
Reports suggest that Karan has finally got
a good idea to start rolling the sequel,
"The script is currently being developed
and should be locked by the end of the
month. The film is expected to go on the
floors early next year, informs a source
close to the development.
Seems like from cast to director all shall be
new, "Karan wants to cast two new actors
in the film, there will be a girl to complete
the triangle and she will be a Bollywood A-
lister but it won't be Priyanka reprising her
role, adds the source.
The original Dostana featured John
Abraham as Kunal, a fashion
photographer, and Abhishek Bachchan as
Sameer/Sam, a male nurse. The two males
were carefree bachelors pretending to be
gay so they can snag an apartment in New
York as tenants. The rental place belonged
to Neha aka Priyanka Chopra, who worked
for a fashion magazine, living with her
aunt and won't sublet to straight guys.
Well, things were bound to get
complicated when Kunal is coaxed by Sam
to apply for domestic partnership with him
because he is a US citizen.
What's next? The latter's mother, Rani,
upset with the knowledge of his sexuality,
lands up at their apartment. Meanwhile,
the two boys end up falling in love with
Neha and try to not just put her off the
other but also conveniently mess up a
budding romance with her new boss,
Abhimanyu aka Bobby Deol. They engineer
a break-up between the two, only to find
themselves out on the road without a
place to stay.
Well, it wasn't just the subject that was
very outgoing but from the cast to the very
story, Dostana was one of the most epically
awesome movie. Although we know that
we can't have the same cast all over again,
the news of a sequel is just as exciting!
