They decided to make money is what happened. Critical acclaim is good and all but it doesn't pay the bills.

Mahesh Bhatt stopped directing. That's what happened. His last directorial work was Zakhm and what a brilliant film that was. I really wish he would direct one more film. He's a bit cucko but I love his work.

how can I forget Zakhm? such a brilliant movie, and for a change it did seem actually very true to his own life story, which is also pretty sad!😭

They went from being Bhatt camp to Smut camp. Nothing wrong with that. Unfortunately the actual "erotic" content in their movies was utterly lame. And the syrupy Nadeem Shravan music was jarring to say the least in those films (Raaz being the prime example).

The first half is based on his mom's life, ditto. The last half was based on Mumbai riots and is made up here and there. But yes, what an amazing movie that is.

Where were they successes? On Mars?

He had like 12 flops in a row or something insane like that. Scratch that - 16 flops. Last hit 1993 HHRPK.

BOI doesn't even show the whole list of a person's work, especially if they are from the 80's, people need to stop relying on it so much! it is BS! Naam, Sadak, saraansh, dil ha ke maanta nahin, daady, AASHIQUI, hum hai rahi pyar ke etc. all were hits!

He directed 53 films. Lol

He had some good work like Zakhm, Arth, Saaransh, Sir, Daddy etc but he himself calls himself a flop director. Aashiqui, HHRPK & Naam are hits. Others are average to flops.

BOI is not wrong, you are. So cut the BS with almost all his films in the 90s were successes when the man has a record for 15 straight flops.
