Previous update on Page 60

Trust Me

When she reached the machan and climbed on it, she saw Mrityunjay lying on his back watching the sky. He sensed her and said, "Have you thought what will happen after this is over?

She smiled and lay next to him. "I never got the time to think about it. But it sounds like you have thought, she said turning to face him.

He smiled and turned to face her. He caressed her face and said, "Yes, I have. He leaned and kissed on her forehead. Tara moved closer to him. He lay on his back and offered his arm to her as a pillow. She accepted it. She kept her hand on his chest. He laced it with his free hand and said, "I have thought we will go back to our parents. I will meet my family and you will meet your mother. She squeezed his hand in understanding. He continued, "Then we will have many children.

Hearing this, Tara drew her hand back from him and slapped on his arm. "What? Don't you want children? he asked feigning being gravely wounded.

Tara sat up straight, looking away from him and said, "It's not that I don't want. Her face blushed a deep red.

Mrityunjay sat next to her and turned her to face him. "Then what? he asked huskily.

She looked into his eyes and said, "Not many, just one or two, her voice almost a whisper. She lowered her face and blushed even more if it was possible.

He lifted her face placing his index finger under her chin and looked at her face. Her face was glowing in the moonlight. He smiled and nodded. "So shall it be. Saying this, he kissed her on her lips. It was slow. He nibbled on her lower lip. His lips were devouring the taste of Tara's lips. After a lingering kiss, he released her lips. Tara didn't open her eyes. She was still in the euphoria of his love. He placed his hand on the back of her neck and joined their heads. His breath was fanning her face, warming her skin.

After a few moments when she was breathing normally, she opened her eyes and said, "Mrityunjay what will happen if we fail? She didn't want to spoil the moment but this question was ringing in the back of her mind constantly.

He sighed and parted from her. "I don't know Tara what will happen if we fail. I don't want to think that we will fail, he said looking in the distance.

She placed her palms on either side of his cheeks and made him look at her, "Even I don't want to think but still...

"Then don't think. Tomorrow we are going there together and bringing down that witch, then restarting our life. Also, we will have two children. He said the last part with a smirk on his face. Tara chuckled and hugged him. He rested his head on her and said, "Everything will be fine. The love in our hearts is far stronger than anything in the world. They laid down on the machan and were fast asleep.

In the forest, the King and his knights were looking for Tara the whole day but there was no trace of her. As soon as they had entered the dense area of the forest, they had split their group into two. At night, both troops were very far away from each other. They camped in the forest and hoped that the next day they would be able to find Tara. The King silently prayed for the girl who had captured their hearts.

In the Palace, the whole day went in anticipation of any news. The whole royal family and Aradhana were worried. No one slept a wink that night.

In the morning, Tara practised the formation of the light globes as instructed by Guruji. Mrityunjay practised for a while. Guruji was still reading scrolls to understand more about the Vault but the more he read, the more dangerous he found it.

In the afternoon, he called both Tara and Mrityunjay for lunch. After lunch was finished, he instructed them to take some rest. Tara was in Mrityunjay's room tossing and turning in bed. She got up and again started practising the energy circle combat spell. Compared to last night, now her moves were clearer and swifter. She also felt the energy buzzing under her skin when she perfected the move. After some practice she felt tired, so rested.

"Tara... child, get up, a soft fatherly voice called her. She had never heard anyone except her mother waking her up. She had wished many times and thought how it would feel when her father would wake her up. Today hearing this voice she felt more loved. She slowly fluttered her eyes open to see Guruji adoring her. She smiled at him and got up. He took her hands in his and said, "Today whatsoever happens, I want you to know that your father loved you but due to some duty he was not there with you. But you, his daughter and your mother, his wife never left his thoughts.

She was confused and said, "You are saying as if you know my father.

"It's not a question whether I know your father or not. But I am a man and I know how a man thinks about his family. You are like a child to me, Tara, he said smiling at her. She nodded. "We will be leaving soon Tara. Saying this, he walked out of the room. She was not satisfied by his answer but she let him go, for now.

In Guruji's room, they once again went through their plan. They had drunk the potions to keep themselves physically strong and enhance their senses. They also drank a potion as an antidote to some insect bites. After that Mrityunjay saddled Maria and placed some extra weapons on her just in case if anything went wrong. They didn't require Maria for travel but still took her as she was a companion in Mrityunjay's journey so far.

Tara was with Guruji in his room going over her stance once more just to make sure she was doing it correctly. Although Tara had not voiced her question again that how Guruji knew her father, her gaze asked it every time it fell on him. He had read the unasked question in her eyes. When they were sure she was doing everything correctly, she started walking out but stopped when Guruji said, "Because I know him. He walked out of his room.

Tara was now more confused and followed him, "What do you mean by you know him?

He turned to face her and said, "I knew what you wanted to ask. I replied the same. I know your father and you will meet him after this witch is killed. He turned away from her and walked towards Mrityunjay.

Tara was not satisfied with his answer and followed him. "You know my father? she demanded.

Guruji turned towards her and smiled. "Yes, I do. He will meet you after this is finished. Till then be patient, Tara. You need to know we all love you. Your actions have a major part to play in this battle, he said and patted her shoulder. She smiled and nodded. He walked towards his horse and then again walked back into his room. She realized her father was alive. Now she was giddy with delight.

She ran to Mrityunjay who was cuddling Maria and hugged him from behind. He turned around to look at her smiling face and teary eyes. He got worried and asked, "What happened?

"My father...my father is alive. Guruji...Guruji said he will be with us once this battle is over. Oh...Mrityunjay I am so happy. Saying this, she hugged him again.

He knew the feeling of knowing that someone you love was alive. He rubbed her back and said, "So after this battle, we all will get our families. She nodded. He pulled her a little closer and kissed on her lips and then on her forehead. "So let's end this as soon as possible.

Mrityunjay gave Tara the sword that he had prepared for her. She placed it at her waist. He placed his hand on Maria and laced his other hand with Tara. By now Guruji also came to them with his horse and his sword hanging on his hip. He nodded at them and Tara, recalling the location near the Vault, swirled her free hand. In a blink, they were at the location.

In the morning, the King and his men had resumed their search for Tara riding deeper and deeper into the forest without any luck till the evening. They were now reaching the farthest part of the forest from the city.

In the Palace, as the sun was setting in the sky, the worry for Tara was rising in everyone's heart. It was the fourth day since she was last seen. But against every worry, they hoped her to be safe and to be found soon.
