I am disappointed!! I watched the movie and it was a good script but that's just it..it was just good, nothing extraordinary! Story was very predictable and frankly I was not that impressed with Alia's acting either..I cringed every time she cried. May be because it was overhyped, I got disappointed..but I am curious to know if I am the only one who felt that way.

Not sure if they were aiming for the human side of the other party deliberately or not but boy did I feel bad for her inlaws. They seem to be nice people and treated her so well.

Well for Dharma script, it is a miracle. 😆
It is grounded in reality which by itself is amazing probably because it is a true story and based off a book. The people are not painted as Indian good and Pakistani bad, but more as victim of circumstances. So in that sense I think it is a better than good script for me.

Acting wise, Aloo did good not great. I liked Vicky better especially after comparing him in Lust stories and Sanju which I saw later. There were textures in his performance in all three. The biggest thing about Aloo's performance was she convinced me is a grown up and not a child bride. Usually she looks young. Here she looked mature even in the marriage scenes.

i think alia did a great job. she always performs in such an honest way...and she is a natural performer. but I do think the direction and script has uplifted her performance. I think she suited the character only after watching her in it...not initially though. the awards will all go to her partly due to the bias in the industry, I still find her immensely overrated however...and i do not think her performance was national award worthy. maybe a special mention. but i think there are better actors in the industry who just dont get the same opportunity. although she performs well, she looks really young and is always seemed to be "pushed" into roles that another actress could have probably done better.

I agree that it did not live upto the hype that was created. I went in with high expectation though I wouldn't say I was disappointed. I thought it was a good one time watch with good performances. Vicky Kushal 😳

Bola tha na, 2-3 mahine hone do, Raazi will become over hyped.
Raazi was praised for its simplicity and grounded treatment.

Also the real Sehmat was a herself a 19-20years old girl, so what is wrong if Alia looked young.
Shaadi suda hona ka matlab thori na hai ki woh mature lage.

What makes Raazi stand out from other spy thriller films is it's treatment. The movie doesn't show a good side or a bad side. It showed that both sides of the border have normal individuals, who are trying to protect their country. There was a relatibility factor, from all the characters. That even if the characters are doing something which is unethical or immoral, you still understand his/her motivations. You feel bad for the other party, but you understand that whatever was done, it was necessary and required according to the circumstances.
In the end, the movie strongly convinces the audience that there is nothing more important than country, not even humanity, and that was the victory of the film.

Though I agree that Alia's performance is getting overhyped. She was good in the film, but I don't think that it was the best performance from an actress this year. I think Radhika would've done a better job than Alia in this role.

It was the screenplay and Sehmat's well-written character, which overpowered the film.
