Why couldn't Aishwarya Rai sustain her #1 spot after Devdas?

😲 Back in the day I watched every Aishwarya Rai movie. Devdas was a huge rage in California.
I took my friends to see it. I even loved Dil Ka Rishta. However Salman ruined her career. She lost
Baijaro Mastani, Chalte Chalte, Veer Zaara, and a bunch of other movies. Damn Rani stole the thunder.
When Khakee came out I was mad. Her roles became tepid. She could have had Madhuri's depth with the movies I mentioned. Instead of a lame Kuch Naa Kaho we could have seen Chalte Chalte. Instead of Bride a Veer Zaara. No item number in B&B. What do you think?
