Hi Guys,
I am Kshithi. Oldies in the forum may remember me. Not sure if they are still here or not.
I used to be active in IF. But for months now I am dealing with my real life problems, and I was unable to log in. In fact, I had stopped watching all the serials I used to watch. When I decided to see what is happening in IB, I was pleasantly surprised by the REDUX. It is a great way of showcasing a different story, with the similar characters. Isn't it what we all do in the name of FANFICTION? 😊 I was on board with this.
However, the first few episodes were a disappointment. I could not connect with Anika and Shivay. I had a problem more so with Anika than Shivay. Where was the vibrancy, vivacity, or the bubbliness I had fallen in love with? I could not abide by her crying all the time. But after watching all the latest episodes, I can see falling in love yet again with Anika, in spite of the differences and especially her crying is reduced.
Strength does not always mean verbally sparing, being 'khidikitod', being spunky. No. There is a strength in calmness, in silence. She speaks and stands for herself when required. And she can bend, she can let go of her pride and ego for the sake of her family. That is admirable. There is no sense in having 'Pride' when the question is of 'Hunger' and 'Homelessness'. This touch of pragmatism and practicality is an attractive quality. I can get behind this Anika too.
And another major factor for me to like this is the equation between new Shivay and Anika. Earlier their relationship was bubbly, charming. Thier bickering was endearing. Thier relationship was vibrant and energising. I was in love with that relationship.
But this new relationship is seductive. There is no other word for it. The pull, the longing, the desire; everything is displayed and bared to each other through their eyes. There is a haunting quality in their relationship. This also makes a wonderful viewing.
Shivay is so possessive of her. And the way they look at each other, you can feel the heat through the screen.
Earlier their relationship flourished through their constant talking, verbal matches. Now, their eyes speak on their behalf, their silence speaks what they are unable to say.
And there is no misunderstanding between them w.r.t Daksh as of now. Yes, Shivay does not believe Anika's claim. But he knows why she is trying to break the marriage. he believes her to be misguided, and she is misjudging Daksh, but he knows her intentions are still true.
I am on board with this so far.
