The theme of the reboot: repetition
Viewers apparently have non-existent attention span, so repetition is necessary.
Water is wet, Shivaay can't hug, and he loves Prinkaya. A lot. Priyanka is the new Omru so that means double the love, double the hugs, and double the dramatic cringey scenes. From all the episode I have seen his "Niklo yaha se is the most older brother thing he has ever said then came the tears.
Anika is sad in the rain, in her house, at her stall, and on the road. Why? Because resilience is the process of crying in the face of rain, more rain, and even more rain.
Gauri is a gundi. How do I know? That's all she says.
New developments.
Shivaay is sad. All the time. I preferred the rude sarcastic NKK version because at least he had a personality.
Om is a businessman. Why? Because his profession was the problem not the writing.
Anika runs a DHosa stall. Why? Because being hard-working means running barefoot outside with a bloody toe serving food. Obviously, women with other professions aren't hard workers.
Rudra is a supermodel. Why? Another attempt to sell the ACP angle that hasn't worked since DBO 😆
Side note: Can we take to a moment to appreciate no matter what the writers do with Rudra's character it still fits better with Saumya.
Insecure health nut falls for a chubby cute girl. Opposites attract.
Arrogant supermodel falls for an intelligent radio VJ who doesn't take his BS.

Rumya still wins in every universe 😆
Pros:
The female leads are getting the much-needed character development.
Prinkaya trusts a stranger because of her lovely wedding designs. It appears Anika's character spoke to her through her brilliant designs. A universal truth is weddings bring strangers together. Also, strangers are safe if they take you to the hospital...once.
Anika has no money but offers what she has to her less fortunate childhood friend/fiancee, who comes from a good background then she adopts the daughter of a rich family. A heart of gold.
I have seen the comments on Twitter and I agree. It's true in the past, Anika was immature and childish. Who dislikes someone that belittles you and accuses of crimes you didn't commit? Who takes time to get to know strangers? Who fights back when you are verbally attacked? A childish person that's who. This new "mature Anika knows that saying nothing when you are belittled is the true definition of maturity.
Shivaay accuses her of attempted murder, breaks her phone, and insults her upbringing because she didn't do a google search of the Oberoi medical history.
Two days later:
*Shivaay cries in the corner*
Anika: Aww...Sweet Singh Oberoi
This is maturity not badly written dialogues to rush an already non-existent plot.
Gauri is educated and speaks English but refers to herself as a gundi. Why? Because this is how women behave. We either throw candy at walls or proclaim ourselves as goons. There is no middle ground.
Special mention to the amazing one of kind ACP, who is thrown into the show without any thought.Walking around with 20 pounds of make-up on her face is the true meaning of professionalism. Every women knows that her professionalism is measured by the amount of shimmer eyeliner she has on.
Personally, I never liked Prinkaya's character, but I'm loving how one sister was ignored, mentally tortured, and had chilli poured into her eyes while the new sister is treated like a princess. She is waited on hand and foot Shivaay is getting burned for her and Anika is running around like her personal assistant.
Reboot summed up in a song

I will give it 2 out 5 flying pizzas. The clothes are nice and no one is matching. Jokes aside, it probably isn't easy deconstructing an entire show. Kudos to them...it would have been a good idea to plan ahead too 😆
Disclaimer: It's a fictional show.
