As someone who has not watched Hindi BB and not watched BB Marathi from start it has taken me sometime to understand the concept.đł
Keep the contestants cut off from the world, no tv, no mobiles, no newspapers, no radio, no outside contact except that allowed by BB in the way they manipulate it. So it is the test of contestants character how they react to the controlled environment and the inputs given to them (almost like laboratory rats!). Contestants biggest and supposed to be trusted outside contact is the host.
HOW the host reacts to their actions and behavior is gauged by the contestants on weekend and they react accordingly. Of course the (fake?) calls also! Host in effect shapes up the entire BB contest over 100 days. This is huge responsibility to the channel and the show and most importantly to the contestants who depend on him. Hosts should be impartial, react to the behavior and actions by keeping up with the events happening inside the BB house. True contest in BB house can happen if host pulls up cheating, bad behavior, actions hurtful to other contestants and more important ALWAYS BE IMPARTIAL.
Here Mahesh Manjrekar has been the biggest failure as a host. Even his ardent supporters (if he has any left after hosting BB!) would not be able to claim he has been impartial. He has been hugely partial towards Resham and her group. Maybe it is the agenda of Colors, BB and MM is just following directions who knows?! đ
So every action of Megha is put under microscope and nitpicked for points that can be used to criticize her and put her morale down. This has been happening for weeks now. Actions of those opposing Megha are brushed under the carpet. I have no issues at Megha being pulled up, I have big issues about other contestants being allowed to go scot free.
Megha is not perfect has faults, she is too focused on winning, plays with a strategy, is prone to exaggeration but what she is - Megha has guts, she is stubborn and she digs in, she is a fighter.
MM spent entire episode yesterday targeting Megha and in that agenda he even revealed everything Megha said about other contestants in anger to everybody else. If this is not painting a target on her back I don't know what is?! đ˛
Did MM play fair and impartial? A big NO.
MM claimed Pushkar and others don't talk about Megha behind her back! đ˛đ Those of us who watch everyday know, BB can maybe put together 2-3 episodes each of the back talk that happens between Pushkar-Sai and Resham-Aastad about Megha, and last week all of them put together. (MM probably forgot 2-3 weeks back he gave pointers to Aastad that he talks too much about Megha he is showing insecurity about her) đđ
Sai seems to have decided to play the spy for Resham gang (now she is part of that officially). Everything Megha talks with her, discussing feelings, events is promptly reported back to Resham gang and they all start ridiculing Megha with Sai starting the ridicule.
Pushkar claimed in yesterday's episode that Megha lied. This "dhutalya tandalacha Pushkar told Megha he did not come with anyone, he came to argue with her (during team discussion) on hearing his name. Everyone who has watched the episode can attest that it was Aastad who said "far zala chal javu ya and Aastad stood up and told Pushkar they will go inside. Pushkar just followed Aastad's directive and they all trooped in to target Megha collectively. So Pushkar is lying when he told Megha he came alone on his own.
Megha claimed Sukanya tai (the aadhyatmic, praising Resham's sanskar and (mis)guiding Sharmishta to play "independently translation don't listen to Megha đđ) told her Pushkar was planning to pretend faint and so she gave him limbu pani. Megha has to be telling the truth because unless someone told her she had no way of knowing this. She was not around when Aastad Pushkar had this conversation. Aastad Pushkar admitted during heated fight that they discussed Pushkar falling in swimming pool so they did discuss his falling/fainting and someone, most likely Sukanya told this to Megha. So how does this make Megha the liar and Pushkar the "Harishchandra?
Aastad's behavior has been most shocking and disgusting along with Sai's. I expect this kind of behavior from Resham and recently Pushkar! (BTW Pushkar thinks all women are selfish excluding Sai - do the all women include his family? or just us viewers! đ)
Aastad told Megha not to ask for diamonds with Sukanya-Aatisha while he himself did exactly that. MM did not point this out.
Aastad goaded everyone especially Pushkar to fight and this created the ugly situation. MM did not point this out.
Sai apparently told Pushkar to go screw Megha. MM did not pull her up for her words.
Aastad ne Meghala Aaichi shivi dili, he shouted on Megha and called her Chhapri. MM's reaction was you and Resham should not have gone and said that. Just this maybe 30 seconds.
Aastand actually claimed that he was surprised at his own restraint and did not do more and MM ACTUALLY kept quiet to that sentence.𤢠Should viewers conclude that Aastad got the message that in future if he does not show restraint MM will not mind much, is this what MM was trying to imply here? Because this is what I inferred at his non-reaction. This was the most disgusting part of BB episode yesterday.
(Apparently Aastad has used extremely disgusting words for Megha and Sharmistha that was cut out.)
Sai has been claiming disloyalty and shouting about it from rooftops for 2 weeks now. What has been her behavior after Megha probably said sorry atleast a dozen times? Sai reports EVERY CONVERSATION she has with Megha to Resham gang with ridicule and mocking. She has been vicious in her behind the back talk about Megha. I don't know how everybody is in their behavior outside of BB, but I know this, I will never want Sai as a friend. If things go a little bit against her she can turn vicious and has no qualms about discussing confidences with others.
MM has created an atmosphere of extreme hatred for Megha inside the BB house. He revealed every bit what Megha said to other contestants while hiding what all they said from her. MM actually claimed they do not talk behind her back! Maybe it is time MM actually watches the episodes.
If the agenda is to create big fights and ugly behavior inside the BB house for last 2 weeks, to create ruckus for TRPs I am sure BB and MM have succeeded in that. If someone or Aastad (encouraged by MM's not strongly and forcefully pulling up his ugly behavior) actually starts swearing at Megha or someone gets physical with Megha Megha's family should know where the incitement came from!
If being cooped up inside a BB house is supposed to be a test of character then Colors BB and MM agenda seems to have been to bring out every ugliness, every backbiting, every viciousness out. They have created a very UGLY BB and have been blatantly unfair. Celebrity contestants go in to give feedback to Resham, to give her valuable tips and to misguide someone like Sharmishtha.
If the host is fair, if he pulled up bad behavior of EVERYBODY, if he is impartial, If teams were chosen to make friends play against each other sportingly, if the tasks were chosen to bring out the best not the worst out of contestants this could have been a very entertaining BB season 1.
What it has been is partial towards Resham and her group BB. I have no issues about pulling up Megha for her actions. I have issues about glossing over other contestants appalling behavior and letting them get way scot free. This has been the trend entire BB.
If how BB was conducted has been indicative of Colors as a channel I am going to stay away from them after July 22. I don't like the standard of this channel and I would rather stay with their competitors. Watching Megha targeted every week at the goading of biased comments, fake calls and revealing information only about her talks is not fun nor good entertainment. I will watch till finale because I want to see Megha win. She is the only one who has cared enough to prepare, has worked her aoff in the kitchen and done all tasks with spirit.
BB might just choose Resham for all her contribution of eating, lying around all day with a sour puss patronizing expression on her face, her "sanskari behavior at start, not doing much work and bit____g about everyone especially Megha. If Colors and BB does this nobody will be surprised, after yesterday agenda is apparent.
MM talked about ye public hai ye sub janti hai yes public does. They are not forming opinions just about the contestants but about the host and channel also.
Maybe I should not watch further episodes of BB, because target practice on Megha is no fun. Is this how other BB seasons were conducted? Is this what BB is actually all about to bring out ugliness and fights? What does everybody think?
