Ohh yeah that one was another cute gesture from him. He gave that yellow flower to Nandini that lifted her mood, he knew how much it would matter for her. But he had that red rose as surprise for his wife 😆 Not sure about symbolisms as of now, but hoping that the scene was indication like you wrote.
