Hey people😃 I'm here with another update. Hope you all enjoy reading it.
Part 8
When everyone else had retired to their room and the living room was empty, Sameer and Naina stepped out of their room. The lights were off, and Naina signalled Sameer to go and place the cookie box in the kitchen cabinet.
"Tum bhi chalo" he whispered. "Nhi, tum rakh k aao" Naina refused.
"Arey andhera h, light dikhane k liye bhi to koi chahiye" he explained, to which she agreed.
They sneaked into the kitchen and placed the cookie box in the cabinet. Sameer turned back and accidentally stepped on Naina's foot. She immediately put her hand on her mouth to muffle her scream.
"Sorry sorry sorry... " Sameer repeatedly apologised but received angry glares in return.
Naina was still wincing in pain. They quickly went back to their room and immediately after closing the door, Naina slumped on the bed, holding her foot, which was paining very badly.
"Tumhe dikhta nhi h kya?? Itti zor se chad gye mere pair par!!" she cursed him, while caressing her foot to soothe the pain.
"Ab main andhere mein bhi dekhu.. Ulloo thodi na hu" he said and went outside to get the first aid kit.
"Ulloo hi ho" she shouted from the room.
"Dheere bologi??" he came back with the first aid kit and closed the door of the room.
"Pair age karo" he asked and took out a tube of pain relief cream from the kit.
"Main khud kar lungi" she snatched the tube from him and applied the cream on her foot.
He just watched her with crossed arms. She took the crepe bandage from the kit and tried wrapping it around her foot. But she couldn't, because everytime she tried, it either became loose or she hurt her foot while trying to move it. His hands itched to help her but if she had ego, he had it too.
"Ye bandhne mein help kar do" she said, forwarding the bandage to him, finally giving up.
He took the bandage and a smirk formed on his lips. He sat on the bed and placed her foot on his thigh, making sure that it didn't hurt her, and started wrapping the bandage around her foot and ankle.
"I'm sorry" he sincerely apologized, concentrating at the task at hand.
"It's ok" she softly replied and trying to cheer him up, added "lekin tumhari mummy ne kya kha k paida kiya tha tumhe? Tum kitne heavy ho! Mujhe to laga mera pair hi toot jayega"
She realised that he had abruptly stopped wrapping the bandage, and she too stopped giggling on seeing his facial expressions change from apologetic to angry.
"Main bohot baar sorry bol chuka hu. Maaf nhi karna to mat karo, lekin meri personal life ke bare mein sawaal mat karo" he said sternly, and quickly got up. She sighed in pain as her foot fell on the bed.
"Sameer, I didn't.." she tried explaining, but he lied down on the bed and switched off the lights. He didn't say anything after that. Not his usual flirty nonsense, not even a good night!
She decided to apologize to him the next day, and lied down and slept.
Next morning, Naina had woken up late, so she didn't get the chance to apologize to him. They were both on their way to Naina's office and she was trying to start a conversation with him. She wanted to apologize for last night's incident but didn't know where to start from. Finally, she decided to come straight to the point.
"Sameer, I'm sorry. Kal wo maine jaan bujh k nhi bola. Maine sirf topic change karke tumhe cheer up karne k liye bola tha." she couldn't even look at him and kept looking down.
"cheer up my foot!!" he muttered. "Mujhe kaise pata hoga ki tumhe bura lag jayega" she complained when she heard that.
He didn't say anything for the rest of the journey. This made her frown in anger. It wasn't her fault that he got upset on hearing about his family. She didn't know about his equation with his family. But still she was saying sorry to him. But no, he had to show his ego and act ignorant. The car jerked as he applied brakes. They had reached her office. He was behaving all arrogant and she was very angry at this. She got off the car and slammed the door close. Pain shot through her foot and she winced. She limped towards the gate. He saw this, came up to her and held her hand to help her but she jerked it off.
"Nahi chahiye tumhari help. Sadte raho ego mein" she chided and walked past him.
"Fine!" he angrily threw his hands in air, and sat in his car and drove off.
On the gate, Preeti, who had reached just now, saw Naina limping and rushed to help her.
"Kya ho gya tere pair ko?" she enquired as she held her hand to support her.
"Arey wo Sameer galti se mere pair pe chad gya. Zyada dard nhi h, raat tak to shayad thik bhi ho jayega." she said as they got into the elevator with two other people.
"Ye wohi Sameer h na jo tere sath rehta h" Preeti whispered in her ears and Naina nodded, anger resurfacing on her face. The elevator door opened and they walked out of it.
"Naina tere pair ko.." Swati was about to ask Naina about her foot but couldn't complete it as Naina frustratedly interrupted her, "Toota nhi h, sirf dard ho rha h." She went to her desk and sat there with her face in her palms. She inhaled deeply to calm herself and got back to her work.
"Ise kya hua h?: Swati asked Preeti and she told her about how Naina's foot got injured, "in dono ka jhagda kabhi khatam hi nhi hota kya?" Preeti narrowed her eyes.
"Accha h na, ladte ladte pyaar ho jayega" Swati winked and Preeti giggled.
Swati dialed Munna's number and he picked up before the second ring could start. "Haan bolo, Swati."
"Munna, main soch rhi thi na.. Bohot dino how gye sath mein coffee piye. Aaj office hours k baad coffee pine chalte h na." she requested.
"Aaj nhi ho payega. Mujhe kuch kaam... "
"Pleeease" she pleaded, something he could never say no to.
"Please mat bolo.. Tumhe pata h mujhse mana nhi kiya jata" he blushed.
"To thik h, office k baad Sameer ki office k niche milenge sab" she chirped.
"Sameer ki office k niche sab?? Kaun kaun ja rha h?" Munna asked in confusion.
"Tum, main, Sameer aur Naina." she replied with obviousness.
"Wo dono kyu?"
"Arey unka jhagda hua h, sath mein coffee piyenge to solve ho jayega. OK now bye, bohot kaam h." she said quickly and hung up. She hi-fived with Preeti, "Tu dekhna maine inki setting nhi karwa di to... "
"Enjoy!" Preeti laughed and got to work.
After office hours, Naina was waiting for a rickshaw when Swati came to her, "Naina, aaj main bhi tere sath chalungi"
"Sameer k office jana h mujhe" Naina clarified, assuming that Swati had some misunderstanding about where she's going.
"Haan pata h. Mujhe bhi wahin jana h, Munna bhi wahan aa rha h, phir hum coffee pine jayenge" Swati said and just then, an auto rickshaw halted there and Naina and Swati sat in it and left for Sameer's office.
When Swati and Naina got out of the auto rickshaw, they saw Munna already waiting for them. They walked up to him.
"Chal phir, tu ja iske sath coffee pine" Naina smiled slightly.
"Arey ruk ja na, aise kaise tujhe akeli chhod k chale jaye hum" Swati smiled back at her and stopped Munna by grabbing his wrist, who was about to say something. She signalled him to keep quiet and winked. He understood that she's up to something.
"Waise Naina, tera aur Sameer ka jhagda kyu hua?" Swati asked and Naina narrated everything.
"Ab tu bata, meri koi galti thi kya isme? Phir bhi maine sorry bola use. Lekin usko hi nakhre karne h to main kya karu? Ego jo h uski itti badi" she complained and frowned.
"Nahi Naina, ye uski ego nhi h" Munna defended Sameer but Naina wasn't ready to listen to it.
"Tum to apne cousin ki hi side loge na" Naina mocked, crossing her arms.
"Nahi Naina. Main uski side nhi le rha. Uski mummy ne use 8 saal ki umar mein hi hostel bhej diya tha. Isliye wo apni mummy ka naam sunte hi gussa ho jata h" Munna explained Naina. She felt really sorry. It was a wound he'd been carrying since childhood and she'd unintentionally scratched it.
Just then, Sameer came out and on seeing Naina, he gave a stern expression, while she looked apologetic.
"Munna, tu yahan?" Sameer went to him, trying to ignore Naina.
"Haan, hum sab aaj coffee pine jayenge" Munna happily declared and Naina and Sameer looked perplexed.
"Main nhi aa paunga yaar" Sameer tried denying but Munna insisted, "mere liye bhi nhi ayega. Are kam se kam apni Bhabhi k liye hi chal"
"Accha thik h yaar" he agreed.
"Swati main... " Naina started but, "Tu to mana karna hi mat" Swati threatened her.
"Ab chalo" Munna went to sit at the front seat but Swati pulled him back and both of them sat at the back.
Seeing Sameer's cold behavior, Naina didn't want to sit at front, so she asked Swati to move to the middle and make space for her.
"Naina, wo driver nahi h. Age baith ja, warna mere aur Munna mein se ek ko baithna padega. Pyaar karne walo ko door karegi tu??" Swati pleaded and her trick worked. Naina went and sat at front.
Everyone was silent in the car. Naina and Sameer didn't say anything because of their fight and Munna n Swati because they were waiting for Sameer and Naina to speak.
"Tum kya kar rhi ho Swati?" Munna whispered, knowing very well that she's up to something.
"Arey inki baat karwa k inka jhagda khatam karna h" she whispered back.
"Lekin ye dono to kuch bol hi nahi rhe" she sighed in exasperation.
The car stopped in front of the coffee shop and all four went in.
"Tum dono baitho, hum dono coffee leke ate h" Swati dragged Munna with her and left Sameer and Naina alone, hoping that they would solve their fight.
That's it for now. By the way, I have a surprise (hopefully) for you guys. Will present it very soon😉
