Race 3 from the horses mouth

I have said this before and I will say it again, whatever you read on media is half the truth. The stuff that happens, in reality, is totally different.
My friend owns a single screen here in my city (I have mentioned this before as well) and this is what he told me

Movies of superstars are like bread and butter for the industry. When you buy/ exhibit a movie like Race 3, you are not only buying one movie, but your arm is twisted to buy a package. What this means is you have to buy other craps like Loveratri, Hero, etc (depends on distributors).

They know movies like Loveratri is destined for a loss, but they also know movies like Race 3 will cover up the loss and at the end of the day, profits will be moderate.

Now the problem comes when movies like Race 3 begins to flop. Then you are losing money everywhere and you can't help but pray for movies like Loveratri to become a hit (which happens rarely). All you get is a better bargaining power for the next big movie but that hardly makes a difference.

Talking about the producers, they laugh their way to the bank. Race 3 has made tonnes of money for Salman Khan. For them, the movie is a big hit. But for other people in the trade its a flop.

It is portrayed that Salman has a big heart and does a favour for his loved ones. But has anyone every thought that when you cast your own flop people, the commercial appeal of the movie reduces. This affects the business. You write stupid songs to boost your own ego but what about thousands of trade people who are dependant on you?

Now obviously he won't tell me all the secrets and more about the package deal because at the end of the day it's his business.

Salman fans, post all the articles and every box office report you want. The truth won't change.

I would blame people who invest high amounts on Salman's films and even accept poor films from his banner despite facing losses during Tubelight. There is no cure for stupidity.
All of them should unite and refuse terms and conditions favorable to producers only. Then producers will be forced to sell at reasonable rates. If they forget basic business principles its better they shut shop and move to something else.

Salman asked for 150 Cr from Eros. No Distributor was ready to burn their fingers this time.
These insane budgets, distributor prices and star fees for obvious flops make no sense. 100 Cr for ABCD 3. 90 Cr for Tamasha. 150 Cr for Mohem Jo Daaro. How much did they charge for Padmavat?o

Used to work before. There was a time when distributors/ exhibitors were shown the full movie before they decided whether they wanted to invest or not. As per my friend, distributors sometimes even suggested to change the ending or add/ delete a song to appeal to more viewers.

But times have changed. Unity doesn't work too well because a lot of idiots are around to invest. As per my friend, until the situation goes out of the hand, nothing is going to change. Projects like race 3 are looked like investments to cover up previous and upcoming losses. They are simply too big to ignore.

I know people would say there is a risk, there is that, but is there no responsibility for content creators? Cant, they tell Salman Khan that your song is shit, the people you associate with are shit and no one wants to see boby deol or daisy shah. Let's get better supporting cast. Salman knows his name is big enough to bully people and is taking full advantage of it. But its good to see some change.

The thing is you don't know which trash will work and which won't. So many horrible movies esp salman movies have gone on to be 100 crores hits. It's such a gamble anyway.

Here comes Another hardcore SRK Fans who is in same frustration all this decade, now comes with another theory which he himself knew it ain't true... SRK Fans can go to any limit to bash Salman, while they forget all these drama when Srk film releases =)) 🤣

This guy never shows up when SRK Film releases... i am sure his so called friend must have purchased JHMS from SRK in same kind of package deal, he must have got ITTEFAQ in same kind of bargain if we believe TM... so JHMS was clean FLOP, ITTEFAQ was FLOP... but u will never see HORSES MOUTH when this kind of deal happen =)) šŸ˜†

Better ask your idol to give HITs or your life will be wasted online handing all these frustrations =)) šŸ˜†

BOI may put whatever verdict it can semihit average etc etc
but a movie which gives losses to distributors is a flop..simple basic logic..and race 3 overall is being seen as a failure..just how TL was..

lets accept and hope better sense prevails..we all at the end want good cinema and i am glad audience are rejecting trash even if it from superstars..

He took a hit. He isn't biased. He got no favorites. It's his business. Its entertainment for us but movies is what puts food on his table.

Rohit Shetty+ SRK + Kajol had a potential to be one of the biggest movies and he got screwed. Race 3 and tubelight had potential to be one of the biggest movies and he got screwed.

Had you understood what I said, you wouldn't be asking this.
