She's not really popular she's just smartly kept herself relevant. Courts all the media attention herself

Shilpa has been smart enough to adapt herself with the changing times. Honestly, Big Brother, for her, was a stroke of sheer good luck which turned her fortunes around, otherwise she could have faded into the oblivion like some of her other contemporaries. She caught on with the times, ended up meeting Kundra, judged reality shows, focused on yoga, opened numerous businesses (labels, spa) thanks to her husband. Today, she just stays relevant with the times and is part of an elite social circle.

What baffles me is her husband though. I can't wrap my head around how he lives with a conscience. The 'father' in him dotes on his son and completely disregards the daughter from his first marriage. I remember reading one of his interviews where he said that he refrained from being in touch with his daughter on purpose, for he didn't want to 'confuse' the child by being and not yet being in her life. Even if we assume for once, let's say his first wife didn't want him to maintain any relations with the daughter, which I don't think was the case, still if he wanted, no power could have stopped him from being in touch with her.

Raj Kundra? Is he a superstar? A movie actor? What is he? Being rich doesn't make one famous so how in god's name is he being credited for Shilpa's success?

She built herself into a brand post Big Brother, she has a great personality, is a social butterfly and to top it off she still looks like she is in her 30s. These are the reasons she is still talked about. Her contemporaries, although much better than her in terms of acting (save Raveena) burned out and were unsalvageable. She on the other hand was yet to reach her peak. It's fascinating how people have different peak times.
