It was only just last week that I was left brimming with hope...2 back to back weeks of sound storytelling; I mean even a done to death "jungle track" dealt with so much freshness, not to mention the complete justice done to both Aditya and Zoya's character trajectory, while being totally truthful to what they essentially stand for...
What enchanting moments we were blessed with...starting from the extremely difficult, but superbly executed AdiYa fake marriage, sans unnecessary melodrama...the CVs who gave us "kaam ki tarah karte hain, aur nikalte hain Zoya"..."kabhi kabhi mujhe apne hi intelligence pe shak hota hai, kya sahi hai kya galat"..."kamse kam tumhein toh mujh par bharosa hai naa"..."utha loon?"..."aap humein ab utar de...yahan par bahut log hain"..."tumhein lagta hai ke maine tumhein bachaya, par tumhein nahin pata ke tumne mujhe bachaya hai...woh banne se, woh karne se, joh main kabhi tha hi nahin!"

Some FAB writing, this! To be able to put things across so succinctly, and that too entirely within the paradigm of the characters...to make us believe that it was actually Aditya and Zoya mouthing those lines...such beautiful layers to their innate simplicity and goodness of character...
I had actually begun to believe that the only way from hereon is upwards!
And my assumptions were definitely not unfounded! The week started on such a high! What captivating reunion scenes...what sincerity and unwavering conviction in those incessantly repeated two words..."Zoya bhi!!!"...Aditya has obviously still not realized the profoundness of his feelings for Zoya, but that one upward glance from his mother, told a different story altogether!âď¸
Absolutely loved Zoya's response to Aditya on the night before D-Day..."Haan aapko dimaag toh thoda aur lagana chahiye tha...par humnein kaha tha na ke hum dikhte bewakoof type ke par hai nahin...humnein woh faisla poore hoshon hawaz main liya tha...hum donon ke liye" What clarity of thought, what confidence, even in the face of such great adversity! âď¸
Had actually begun to believe that the CVs had finally got a hold...I mean if they could decipher the inherent goodness of Aditya and Zoya in such a simple yet effective manner, the court case would be nothing short of a blockbuster...after all, we were going to witness a face-off between a Central Bureau of Idiocy officer with an open and shut case and one of the foremost and formidable criminal lawyers of the country!!!
Let me clarify, friends, right at the outset, that moi aint no law expert! And thank God for small mercies!! đ
I mean what exactly was that??!! A joke of some kind!!!
One didn't require a Harshvardhan Hooda and an actor of Rajesh Khattar's caliber to bring home this case!
I mean this could very well have been Arjun's independent debut in court! đ
CVs, it is truly painful...to be watching actors such as Harshad Chopda and Jennifer Winget at the receiving end of such trash!
Have a confession to make...am watching these 2 for the first time (had watched Harshad in Left Right Left, but that was eons ago, when he was not such a seasoned actor!)
CVs, these 2 are gems!! Absolute, Priceless GEMS!!!
I mean I could sit through the last few days of caricature, only thanks to their acting...I mean when was the last time we saw 2 leads of a Hindi series so poignantly communicating their frame of mind, through their expressions alone??!!
In fact I will even go one step further...it is their nuanced performance and inherent subtlety in their histrionic abilities that has made some of the most unrealistic tracks thus far, seem completely plausible...
Who can ever forget those EPIC moments...their obvious discomfiture, not to mention pain, when they recount their make believe stories for the first time to Sagarika Bhabhi...Aditya's heart-wrenching narrative to Zoya in his semi-stuporous state...to his absolutely sincere "Kyunki main kabhi kisi se pyaar kar hi nahin sakta" absolving him of all dubious intentions with respect to Mahi...to my most FAVOURITE scene in Bepannaah till date...and, a very difficult one at that!
The lakeside scene in the jungle, where Zoya helps Aditya quench his thirst...
There were just 3 words spoken in that scene..."lijiye"..."bas"...and "thankyou"!
Everything else was communicated entirely through JenShad's acting chops!
The hesitancy in both Aditya and Zoya...communicated beautifully, merely through their glances!
The sublimeness of the moment...not a note greater, nothing lesser!
An unspoken attraction...yet, a dignified distance!
Harshad and Jennifer, you totally nailed it!
You brought out AdiYa so effortlessly!
Isn't this called CHEMISTRY, guys??!!
To be able to SCORCH up the screen, saying so little!!
Hat's Off, JenShad!
It's been a DELIGHT knowing you!

And now, coming back to the trigger to this post...
Was only just heaving a sigh of relief when this courtroom tragedy (pun totally intended) came to a close today...was even more hopeful when I saw the precap...Zoya's outburst, reason enough to pack her bags and leave for Mussorie...most importantly, reason enough for me to look forward to next week!
But lo and behold! My happiness had to be short-lived! đĄ
Watched the latest promo, and guess what...to my utmost horror, Rajveer is not off our backs' yet...the guy has managed to kidnap Zoya!!! đĄ đ¤˘
I mean, like seriously CVs! S E R I O U S L Y!!!
So much for raising the bar to 2 weeks of great writing, and showing us light at the end of the proverbial tunnel!!
A humble request, CVs...
You have a novel concept, a stellar cast, and an unflinchingly sincere audience watching Bepannaah!
Let's not take all of this for granted!
As I had stated in my post last week, firmly believe that Bepannaah is a beautiful tale of giving life a second chance...
Let's give that tale a chance, CVs...
Fingers and Toes crossed!
And, with that...
I rest my case!đ
Cheers,
