Last weekend, after putting my baby to sleep and finishing all the baby related chores, I had nothing else to do. Why not start a new TV show? The last time I committed to a Hindi serial, a Happy' and peppy girl turned an Arrogant Sauve Rich brooding man into an adorable puppy and they started painting the town red with their unnamed love. I tried a couple of TV serials later, but couldn't watch past a week. What can I say; I am guilty of finding a treasure trove in Korean dramas 😳and they eat up all of my minuscule free time, not to mention all the American shows that I have been loyal to, for years.
I pulled out trp list for the week from internet to watch something in Hindi, and the title of the highest rated drama was enough for me to check out other reliable sources. (Thanks but no thanks, I am already married and I know all the luck that comes with vermilion 🥱... no offense to any fans here). I remembered my IF days before I got myself self-banned, so I could move on from virtual world. After exploring IF here I am, in this forum with a new Avatar, to give my two cents to whoever is willing to read my long post.
This is the first time I would be watching Chopda and Winget, and did wonder if I am wasting my time on them. You see, I have a first draft of a story I had written to post on Wattpad and promised myself that I would finish posting before my baby was born. A year later, those pages are still left untouched in my iPad. It's valid that I feel guilty to commit to a drama that may continue for years, and as you all know IF can be quite addictive.😕
Coming back to the story, I jumped in blind and was surprised that it actually started with both of them married to different people. All the more surprised that their respective spouses were having an affair (Or did they really?) and got killed in the first fifteen minutes. Whatever misconceptions I had about the leads vanished in the first half an hour because the cast won me over with their acting capabilities. BTW, I know I am late to the party but how did the cops manage to pull both the bodies out of the car, with them holding hands all the while?😲
Those locks though!! #hairgoals
I watched the first few episodes diligently, and was beginning to get drained to be honest. He is arrogant? And she is a navet? Yeah, how very original! Aditya jumped the gun too quickly and wouldn't shut up. Zoya on the other hand, well, just the opposite of Adi, and started moping incessantly. Kudos to the Good Samaritan who picked her cellphone that she conveniently dropped while talking to her SIL... hey girl, I don't blame ya... I would have done the same if she were my SIL too, or worse...
Those Abs though!! #hotHarshad ☺️
Okay, I can understand they are devastated and both of them are dealing with the loss in their own way, with myriad of emotions rushing in their minds. I can also understand Aditya acting out and lashing at Zoya (all's fair in love and war), an easy target, and Zoya holding on to the blind faith she has for her dead husband and grasping at straws to exanorate her husband (love is blind). What I didn't understand was how the hell was she putting up with Adi's endless taunts and her SIL stopping Zoya from attending her husband's last rites. Hello millennial... You could have done better than that! At this point, I wanted to give up. I wouldn't mind a drama sans humor, but a weak bimbette... hell no... But before I leave, can I have your hair stylist's number, please?
Those white dresses though!! #prettyinwhite
After giving up for a day, I decided to watch just one last episode. The leads enticed me into watching just one more episode (Arjun Hooda, I see you too, cutie!). That one last episode hit me hard where it hurts the most! What a fulfilling episode! Zoya turned around (literally) with her locks in tow, bursted Adi's ostentatious bubble with ease, rendering him useless to fly even after he passed his stress test with flying colors. He forced Zoya to come out of her husband/father's shadow, prying her out with a verbal pitchfork and pricking her relentlessly until her sheltered bubble burst. A match made in heaven! As preposterous as it may sound, only these two can manage to get under each other's thick skin, and heal together once the facade comes off. Ah, I feel like having bubble tea now.😳
Their sizzling chemistry though!! #couplegoals
Now that they managed to burst each other's sweet little bubbles; Jenni with her curly locks, and Harshad with his bare chested hoodie and double layered shirts (is that even a thing?), I want to see more of their dynamics. I just hope in future episodes, Aditya will tone down his verbal fireworks and Zoya just ends her waterworks,... or maybe not.
Shoutout to my cutie #ArjunHooda
P.S I wrote this piece last week but procrastinated to signup, and have already watched 13 episodes since. Liking it so far and got to catch up the rest ASAP.
P.P.S. Never thought it would turn out to be such a lengthy post. In my excitement, I just kept typing and lost track of words. My apologies in advance...
Those locks though!!!😃
