Adi and Pooja could have gotten married more because they had always been together and couldn't imagine the other person not being there.

However, there's a that it's easier to take each other for granted when they've known each other their whole lives. Even when Pooja asked him to join her a poetry reading, Adi just says, "You know I hate poetry. I'm not going." Things may have become stagnant but he was oblivious to it because he was self absorbed.

But with someone new who you haven't known your whole life, you see things through a different perspective. There's an excitement in getting to know someone new. I think at first he would have gone to the poetry reading if Zoya wanted him to because it's doing something with someone new and after time when he realized he hated poetry readings, the new Adi might have still continued going with her because it made her happy.

They've known each other since childhood and to them that dosti was love. So they got married. Later on as they lived together Pooja realized that Dosti is not mohabbat. Adi on the other hand was childish and simple. Never really cared about their differences. He loved pooja and that was it for him. But they were different. With Zoya Adi is a different person. He just blows away with her like a fallen leaf. He is not bound to do anything with her. There are no obligations with her. What ever he does he does it with his own will. No one forces him. So he finds these things more interesting. He is learning her values, her lifestyle and her beliefs. And since it's different from his... he is fascinated by it. Hence he watches her with amazement and does it with her. When ur heart is not obligated to do something... you find it more fascinating. This Adi would do anything with snd for Zoya .

@bold - so true.. KANK is a good movie in that it showed how complicated relationships can be..

Yes Pooja realised Dosti is not mohabbat.. but for Adi it could have been love.. We dont know that yet.. unless he draws a parallel later on saying that wht he felt for Pooja was not love..

I love your point about no obligations.. doing something for someone in the absence of obligations.. its infinitely more fulfilling and fascinating and yes.. its love too..

Well said Suzanne... about the aspect of being taken for granted.. vs. in a new relationship as one is still discovering likes and dislikes.. there can be room for adjustments and compromises..
